Is the Rat Fat
Ok couldn't help myself. But seriously it has been mentioned by a few since Saturday night so it has to be a topic of discussion.
Does Milney have a problem with meat pies and donuts?

He's done that plenty.... 250 games/550 goals is confirmation he can play. Talent is undeniable.
But condition helps with consistency, and that has always been a ?

When has it always been a question mark?
Or have I been oblivious to this for all 250 games?

Re: Is the Rat Fat
Are you saying there hasn't been queries over Milney during his career
Performance away
Performance against good opponents
Performance in big games
Consistency week to week
Hard for a FP no doubt, but there has always been ?
He's done a great job to continually silence the critics, and is a star.....
But the fact is.... He doesn't look fit. And if he ain't sharp in his trade... It will effect his consistency and effect

Thought you were suggesting there had always been a question mark over his 'condition'.

Re: Is the Rat Fat
Can't say I noticed it. Then again Milney had so little of the footy he was hard to notice. I just find it hard to believe that a professional athlete playing professional sport could roll up fat (lets say a bit overweight) and the powers that be at the club just turn the other way, give him a wink, and tell him to kick a bag of goals. Surely if he was overweight the issue would have been addressed ages ago, as they have their skinfolds taken all the time. There's a Nutritionist at the club and sports Science guys every where. Just find it hard to believe. Will watch him with interest live this week.
Re: Is the Rat Fat
Both Fraser and Stevie Lawrence had beer guts in 2002/03!
Milney has no 6 pack
That's for sure

Will he do a 'swan nay' and rub his tummy when he kicks one Friday.....
Hope he gets 45 like Swanny did that day, to go with his 4

Of course it would. They have skin fold tests every week or two and they have a fat club as well. I would go so far to say he is within one or two skinfold that he normally is. No one said he was fat in pre season but poor form does make you fat all of a sudden.

Re: Is the Rat Fat
34 straight games with a goal, three straight seasons with 50+, five straight seasons with 40+. Since the last time Milne put up a donut, Betts has been held goalless five times. Nick Reiwoldt has been blanked 4 times; Jack Reiwoldt 3 times; Lance Franklin twice. No small forward can touch him and while a few of the big guys kick more, it's questionable if any have been more consistent. If people have trouble with what Milne does, I'm terrified of the crap our next generation of small forwards are going to have to put up with.
Milne did his thing Saturday night. He impacted at ground level and generated scores. As long as he does that, I don't care how many spare tyres he's carrying - which I suspect is a sum total of none. I get that the cool kids want to be first in to predict his demise, but at least wait until he doesn't have the leagues longest running goal streak.
