I know you can't call it racism but the guys with dark skin are easier to isolate because they can't blend in. He has played the same or less games as newnes despite his age he was fine.borderbarry wrote:Or is he the new Raph?

1 small and 3 talls in
So you would make a too tall team even taller for another outdoors night game?
Dempster is hardly a tall.
So its 2 for 2

Re: Dissapointed we were out tackled and my changes to the s
Watching the Dockers last weekend, their tackling pressure was immense. The WC players were afraid to get the ball by the end of the match.
We need to get that back. Not saying I would want Lyon back, but we lack that tackling pressure... is it a fitness thing? Montagna will be a good inclusion this week.
So yeah, good OP.

Bullshite!! His job was to provide a spark when everyone had come to a standstill. Did absolutely nothing, particularly in light of what Matera did when he came on. He deserves as much criticism as ANY player out there. Let us down horribly. To not touch the ball and playing a full 1/4 of footy and everyone on the park (except Ablett) is knackered defies belief. First to go out of the team, and Newnes sadly is next. If we're worried about structures then it depends who is available. As soon as Fisher is fit, out goes Blake. We need to consider whether Schneider would come in in place of Hickey (I'd give Hickey another chance myself) Maric is a good ruckman.james rose wrote:Bernard Shakey wrote:A pass? Dennis-Lane- 25% Time on ground earns him a pass.
Sorry, should say earns him a pass from too much criticism.

At 18 possessions and 77 % DE I agree. I think that's a pretty good effort.

I do have him in my outs. I'm just not going to get too worked up by one bad 1/4 of football from a player new to our club.Moods wrote:Bullshite!! I would have Kosi in place of Hickey this week. He can line up in the forward pocket and relieve McEvoy in the ruck. If Fisher and Dempster are not ready and Simpkin is, I would play him.

How pleasant it is to read a thread where disagreement is just that - and not outright abuse.saintsRrising wrote: You may think this is a good thing. I do not share your opinion.

I reckon if you accept we are in rebuilding phase then you accept some pain and that means not dropping Newnes. Give him 5 games straight miniumum. The reality is that we could be 5 losses and 1 win at the end of round 6 so what is the point of not giving development players some time to find their feet.

I agree except I don't think they know yet - the view after 1 game will surely be ... lets see how we look after 5-6 games and develop away from there if we are 1-6Cairnsman wrote:I reckon if you accept we are in rebuilding phase then you accept some pain and that means not dropping Newnes. I'm lowering my expectations daily.... reality is our best are old and many of the kids are ok players that need time
I am certain midfields a mess - tackling has gone since Lyon left and Dean Laidly has never proven himself as a developer/tactician with any success. I hope assistant changes are made next year and we look wider than WA
