As a Supporter....
Why should I as a supporter be happy with the AFL? I wait all summer with anticipation to see my side play football and hopefully finals. Then the draw comes out.....
First game a trip to Metricon in the mist humid time if year. Watch my team chase a piece of soap around and then cramp up.
Second week a short trip after being expised to that to play a team thats had three extra days break on us.
Then another trip away.
Thanks for nothing.....

Re: As a Supporter....
It's unfortunate that every lead in game was played in stifling heat. How much weight did some of our players lose during that period and how did it affect their muscle strength?

I'm pretty sure after the first 10 rounds we play catch up to every side we play.

deal with the conditions
Crap responce clearly yoy have no idea. Sides whinge about short breaks when condutions are the same. We have played in tropical conditions and our opponents next week have three days on us. That is complete bulls***. No excuse from the AFL for this as its inexcusable.

Re: As a Supporter....
I would have thought that when the draw came out and we saw we played GC and GWS in the first 3 games we would have been delighted. From a footy perspective anyway. What a chance to get off to a flyer and boost the %.
Anyway. Not to be. Watch the world end if we get knocked off by GWS. Don't laugh, it may happen.

We were delighted but because we lost we think we got shafted. If we played Hawthorn people would say why do we get the GF first. Didnt see anyone whinge before yesterday.

We kicked 5 goals in three quarters. There are no excuses. 17points pffft.
This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

Re: As a Supporter....
Can't blame the conditions for us being 2nd to the ball and being smashed in clearances.
We will now have to play catch-up because of a lack of desire and hard-work.
Can't blame the conditions for that.
I'm going to see Saints v GWS in Canberra in 2 weeks and if things don't change quickly we might be staring at 0-3 start to the season with the bombers to come.
I am very disappointed.

Re: As a Supporter....
I wasnt happy at all. Its pretty simple really. Stkilda played their first game interstate last year this year had to be home. The AFL pay people thousands to organize the draw and the most simplest thing they get wrong.plugger66 wrote:8856brother wrote:I would have thought that when the draw came out and we saw we played GC and GWS in the first 3 games we would have been delighted. forget the afl - please - it is is clearly not doing your sanity any good.
go and start following soccer and then you can get all warm and fuzzy in the terraces
