Saintsational is dying...

A few days before our first game and virtually no activity on the board. Saintsational is not the buzzing, thriving forum it was.

Activity in terms of creating new threads and commenting on threads looks to have dropped off compared to previous years. If this keeps up the Forum will, if it has not already, spriral down to be just a ghost forum of about 3 people slanging one another.

Do you care?

Does anyone care?

Is anything, to be done about it? What can be done about it?

What are the reasons?

What are the problems?

IMO some big current problems are:

* Virtually no moderation which means that some posters are allowed to endlessly trash threads (yes we all get worked up from time to time and write things best not, but there are some that way overdo it in thread after thread after thread) and that threads are allowed to go off tangent etc (unlike other forums).

* Closed forum which while keeping trollsters out may also be keeping out the fresh blood that any forum needs.

I think you should take a chill pill and just relax. Firstly IMO there is nothing wrong with this forum. There is a diverse range of opinion which is exactly what you want I would have thought. Secondly it is extremely hard to have a discussion about anything meaningful when our team isn't playing footy. A few practise games in that Claytons of competitions the NAB Cup doesn't count for anything. But...that is all about to change so put aside that negativity. I think everyone who supports this football club can't wait to see how we go this year. And that will happen in about 24 hours when we take on the Suns. I, for one, can't wait.

Ignoring what posters post, I think there is a pretty clear consensus that if non-members could view the forum that we would be more likely to attract new posters.

Any club, or forum, that fails to attract regular new blood at a goodly rate is doomed.
