when did we say we should turn down sponsors?plugger66 wrote:defacto wrote:well said mateDr Spaceman wrote:Yes a "Big Time" sponsor would be nice but that's unlikely to happen. In the meantime any company who wants to give us some big bucks is very welcome at Seaford. Especially if they are involved in a non controversial industry.
And a lessor known company is likely to value the relationship more than the well established ones (really, is Holden ever going to be able to relate any increase in sales or even product recognition to it's sponsorship of the Pies?)
+1 here
With both of you. Not sure we are at the stage to pick and choose.

Re: New Major Sponsor??
That's a good thing for Collingwood! Sponsorship basically never works, it's just a vanity exercise for the marketing department. Unfortunately, with a small company it's much easier for them to tell that it doesn't work...Dr Spaceman wrote:(really, is Holden ever going to be able to relate any increase in sales or even product recognition to it's sponsorship of the Pies?)

Re: New Major Sponsor??
If we are to have a NEW MAJOR SPONSOR for 2013 we had better get a wriggle on and announce it soon. We would also need to get a whole NEW RANGE OF MERCHANDISE with the NEW SPONSOR's LOGO attached !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Which is why I dont think its a major sponsor...maybe shorts sponsor, associate sponsor..match day coaches collar sponsor...but I very much doubt its big enough to warrant a spot on the guernseyEastern wrote:If we are to have a NEW MAJOR SPONSOR for 2013 we had better get a wriggle on and announce it soon. Given Holden are such a major sponsor, the mere fact that we almost knocked off such a big overblown entity as the Skunks, is actually a pretty good effort, and a very positive endorsment of our standing I'd reckon.
PS: I'd still buy the Commodore over the Mazda 6... better car IMHO, and not just coz it's a local... the Mazda drives the wrong wheels and is four cylinders short. Just make it clear to the dealer that you were going to buy the Caprice... two of them... but coz of this sponsorship you'll only buy a Calais. BTW, don't Mazda sponsor that irrelevant road-kill club...? Not a great improvement.

pretty sure in 11 we announced centrebet days before round 1.
So we have some form when it comes to making these type of announcements.

Great car the Mazda 6, but beware, the new model have all just been recalled due to a fire risk with some DC to DC fuel saving crap.stinger wrote:already cost them a sale here.....i was in the market for a new model commodore ...but no way known now......mazda 6 for me.....Dr Spaceman wrote:

How much does it cost to sponsor St Kilda? There's a fair chance a regular poster works for a company who may be a potential partner.

If one's frail or infirm Bernie.Bernard Shakey wrote:Commode is only good for one thing, crap!
Totally disagree though re the current version of the Commodore car. World class..., and a bargain at the price.
However, if you are talking about the various V6 Commodore engines... then I'd agree with you, and put them in the commode class... only good for the frail and infirm.
