Re: Family Day
I loved it. My friend and I were lucky enough to be in the 500 people to meet the whole team and get autographs. Not sure about cheaper jumpers but as we were leaving a lady had a box of used saints zip up jumpers and was giving them out so I snagged one of those. highlight of the day though was getting photos with a topless Clint Jones, Armo and Tom Curren :p.

Re: Family Day
It was good. Different. Had a religous karishna group gate crash the party, sing and dancing through the family day. No cheap jumpers thou as I wanted 2 for my twin daughters but the cheapest was $60 X 2. Even with the crest discount of gold didnt help much.
It was a really hot day and all the boys were happy to take photos. Parking was fine if you got there early and the activities were good.
They just needed to bring more/varitey of merchandise and the cheaper clearance jumpers.

Re: Family Day
Nice touch was to have several former saints present their number jumpers to players

Re: Family Day
Loved it. Thought it was a brilliant idea to hold the Family Day on the Frankston foreshore, open to everybody, not just Saints supporters. Good marketing ..... and they had the Hare Krishna side show!! Hope they all signed up as members.

Re: Family Day
It was a fantastic day and I think the way of doing autographs was fair - my only issue with it was not from a clubs point of view - but from some less than average decisions - I saw more than one family each get a wrist band so that their kids (not talking pre-teens) could get autographs - thats 4 people going through to get autographs for two kids - the parents could have walked along the outside of the tent. My 13 yo got his signatures by himself. Confidence building as well. I was in line and the girl asked me to take a wrist band - but I could only think of person 501.StGoddard18 wrote:I loved it. Aside from that - Sainter_Boy got all he autographs that he was after - only missed Fisher, Lee, Markworth and Dempster - Oh and Watters - he came back to get the jumper to get Scott's autograph - but he had been called for official duties.
As a hint for next year - Parking was horrible at the foreshore - but in Frankston parking on the street is free all day Sunday - there is lots within walking distance.
Fantastic day - Fantastic that a lot of the guys were walking around and the kids could approach and get autographs. For those that did not get a wristband - I was expecting the cards with players autographs to be like the supporters cards from the 80's individually signed not a sheet of all players with tiny autographs preprinted!

I actually oparked basicly where I did last year - top of the hill opposite- outside the oval and just walked down the hill.
Noted family with 2 wheel chairs did the same.- although assume they went to the corner to cross-
there were plenty of spaces. ( and FREE)
I actually quite like the autogrpah sheets- - got 2 variations last year- simple way to learn new players to.

Re: Family Day
I like the sheets too - it helps Sainter_Boy to tick off who he has got autographs from - also helps him match them later - but I would think that if someone was handing out actual signed cards the kids who missed getting personally signed items could at least have something genuine from the family day that they could treasure and not a preprinted thing that will be shredded.saintbrat wrote:Sainter_Dad wrote:[As a hint for next year - Parking was horrible at the foreshore - but in Frankston parking on the street is free all day Sunday - here is lots within walking distance.

I even remember 30 years ago the thrill of getting something that was actually signed was fantastic!
