We know he can kick as he kicked 60 last year. On the positive side, he had four shots at goal. It will come

totally agree - i have seen or heard vitually nothing of the match - but at least Lee is getting the ball to have shots - his chase down tackle against the fast kid from port 2 weeks ago was enough for me to think he could be good for us this year - he is still getting use to the pace of afl no doubt bout I am hoping he gets a bit better each week

Bit of a rundown today from the 3 quarters I saw

Newnes was very good and should play round one
Lee got enough of the ball but couldnt kick. Will be very close round one.
Meister was excellent Lock round one.
Kosi Dont like saying this but could easily retire mid season. He couldnt possibly play round one
Rooy and Lenny did what they needed. Koey and Dal were probably in the best few
Murdoch was very impressive
Siposs didnt do a great deal. Should still play round one
Steven was fair to good
Ross didnt do enough
Roberton was pretty good and is a chance round one
Gilbert played forward and if he doesnt play back wont play round one
TDL doesnt do much but was ok
Milera similar
Milne was pretty good. One of those 3 will miss and it wont be Milne.
Blake tries his heart out but can never ruck again
Fisher solid
Ray ok
Geary and Gwilt good
Dempster ok

Was it hot?

So weird to see teams playing AFL in this kind of heat.

Thanks P66.
Good to hear on Murdoch, what type of player is he?

Agree on Kosi, I have been a fan, but he is a back up only, if he plays we are struggling.
Meister is a far better bet.

Blake rucked on his own all day basically. Well the 3 quarters i saw. He was smashed by Jamar so it was a pretty good effort from our mids.

Thanks, that explains why the ruck stats favoured them according to other posts

Another thing. Lee hurt himself in the 3rd quarter. Either ankle or knee. Go with ankle. Not sure if was subbed.

Sounds like it was a great effort for us then. Basically we conceded every centre bounce and ball up for the day and still won.

Happy with that- I have newnes and meister in my DT - excellent value (as is saad, geary, and hickey as emergency)

Melbourne are very poor though. We need a hrd game next week.

Yep he is right to go next week. Trained fully this week but they let him rest another week. Might struggle round one with only one game at saints and one at Sandy.
