Ray!
Played very well vs Adelaide.
Takes strong, contested marks and provides us with much needed run and carry and throws himself into contests.
He's a very under-rated player, who deserves more of a go - I always preferred him over Gram.

Re: Ray!
Seems to be a decent guy who gets the job done with little fanfare ... and plenty of commitment.
Someone who throws himself into the fray... that's Ray.
Sets a good example.

Should be in our 22.
He was very much a key to our win over Adelaide.
He fell out of favour with the coach last year, and tossed if I know why.
Spoke to him a couple of times, and he was to much of a gentlemen to say anything negative against the club as to him not getting games. But you could see in his eyes the hurt.

Re: Ray!
Yeah, kinda looked like it. Maybe they're building a medium-size backline, something like:SainterK wrote:Not convinced he makes it in, and if he does at who's expense?
Seemed to be playing Grams role, is that right?
FB: Gwilt, Simpkin, Fisher, Geary
HB: Ray, Dempster, Siposs
The FB line are basically defensive, the HB line are basically midfielders. Every player except Geary between 187 and 191cm. Other options if required are Gilbert, Blake, Roberton, Dunell, Newnes.

I dont think he is startup 22 & will be holding up game development if he does
& I still believe we are going to be small and light this year against the competition
I also believed we would draft backline talent at the end of 2012 - so what would i know

Very glad he didnt go to the Demons.
At his peak and I hope he plays a lot of games in the next 2 years.
Amen to that. It is great to see him play well as we know he can. Maybe he will get a new lease of life with the departure of Gram?

didn't really think he was that good but is currently starting 22 for mine if he maintains that imrovement

Agree. His future looked cloudy last season. I'm glad he's still with us. Total prosamoht wrote:Played very well vs Adelaide.

Re: Ray!
takes Gram's spot for me and is a big improvement. he can run, carry, mark, tackle, tag and looks a handsome combination with Roberton.

How do both of them fit into your side. Ray is a GOP. You need GOPS just not to many. I see him as a player who will play occasionally.
Re: Ray!
Ray plays ahead of Gilbert at the moment (who concerns me). Rotates through the wing/midfield. He is so underrated its not funny. Better than GOP I reckon, in the right age bracket too which is important going fwd.plugger66 wrote:millarsaint wrote:takes Gram's spot for me and is a big improvement. he can run, carry, mark, tackle, tag and looks a handsome combination with Roberton.
