He won a rising star, so definately the right call.

Never the same after giansiracusa literally beat his brains in.

We didn't trade pick 12 for Lee alone. We traded down to get Lee. We also got the White pick out of the deal.

Considering both Wellingham and Dawes fetched top 20 picks I think it's fair to say it wasn't exactly a great draft.

I thought he looked okay, but probably won't see much time at AFL level unless we're out of contention or there are a lot of injuries.

Just to be clear. He was not drafted with pick 12. He was not traded for pick 12. We also got picks 24 and 43. I've seen some analysis that suggests pick 24 and 43 are better value than pick 12 and we virtually got Lee for nothing.

It seems that if we don't delivery the ball straight to Kosi's chest, he's useless.

So we've established that Port won most of the ball in the second game, yet somehow it was our forwards that were crap?

Come on now.

I expect more wisdom on here, perhaps misguided of me.

The Fox commentators made the point about the saints giving up pick #12 for Lee. In their view for pick 12 you would want a real gun.

I'm afraid Tom Lee is more of a water pistol.

I have no idea if he will be good or bad but 2 40 minute games on 38 degree day isnt really what I would be basing his career on.

A 200cm talent

And an all time great

Pre season - who cares. You all having yourselves on if you think it is a true indicator of form.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Yep, Stanley, Roo, Macca & Hickey sounds like a pretty decent tall combo deal!

Where does Hickey play though if all the others play?

I thought lee showed some good signs especially in the second half oh say when he had half an idea about the speed, intensity of AFL footy. JESUS CHRIST guys give the kid a BREAk!! He took a great mark and kicked brilliantly twice. Let him play and get the feel ffs!

look at Maister!! He is coming on nicely!! Judfged him to quick too... he will play 22 games at ff this year!

A water pistol might have been more use in that first game! :D

Seriously though, he showed a couple of decent flashes in the second game. It's February, for goodness sake.

plus unless he played any preseason games for the crows, it's his first senior game at this level

It's tough for a forward coming into a new club... esp one with established forwards

he has to learn where to lead to
he has to learn what space to avoid e.g. not lead to Roo
he has to learn the kicking preferences of the mids etc

he needs a lot time

Roo up fwd, Macca Ruck, Stanley dee-fense, Hickey rotating ruck relief and foil for Roo up fwd.

Lee still needs to develop some more - but will hopefully improve during the year - the team can't really afford to carry kosi for the odd mark and convert IMO - he just frees up a back man

Lee will be a decent player. I said all along he isn't your traditional forward . He is a 6'4" Milney with sticky hands and quick feet. He will crumb as many if not more than he marks.

The commentator was Rusciuto who was an Adelaide player. Adelaide dumped Lee so I think he seemed to be willing him crap after letting him go.
