What do we want to see
Dragged myself back to the site this week as realised footy is on the way, although far from enthused at the moment.
NAB cup means different things for different teams and with the current fixture structure you need a t square and pythagoras to work out how far a team goes.
That said I am curious what people hope to see as positive signs by tonight:
- solid hit out from Seb Ross
- Gwilt moving fluidly
- Saad a bit fitter than 2012
- Jack Steven looking fit
- Jackson Fergusson show some positive signs
Please add

Re: What do we want to see
-Newnes and Sippa to play in important positions [the Dal Santo (dal to play lenny's role) and Goddard roles respectively]
-Milera and Dunnel to influence the distribution to the forward line on a regular basis playing further up the ground
-Tom Curren getting possies
-The backline looking cohesive
If we can have a few of these things clicking before the season proper gets underway we'll go a long way to improving saints footy in 2013

second that and a good sign from the new boys- Saunders, Murdoch wright etc. Newnes and Siposs to keep up their good work. Hickey to look a champ, Geary to look like he's lifted even higher than last year. I think lee will be a player just hope he shows something now.

Re: What do we want to see
Fair post. I dont care about winning and losing in the NAB cup.
I dont expect anything from first year players but for 2nd year guys it is their time to shine and for 3rd years careers are on the line.
Hoping to see something good from some of Roberton, Dunnel, Webster, Shenton ,Lee, Ross, Lever, Staley, Ferg and Curren.
If 5/10 of those guys are good Ill be happy.

No one collapsing from heat exhaustion!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
Re: What do we want to see
i want to see a game plan that shows us an improved and ruthless team defence
i want to see 2-3 young minds really put their hands up over the next month
and for ferguson to claim a KDP

What do I want to see? Blokes wearing St Kilda jumpers running around a footy field. And, as plugger stated: No Injuries !
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

I want to see something for the future. There is no quick fix when you are on the decline, but it would be nice for a few of our kids to look to have something so we can build with them in the coming years. We can't afford anymore dud drafting years

Re: What do we want to see
A more mature standard of team cohesion and focus - building on some great signs at times in 2012. Positivity and a commitment to respond to adversity when it occurs. I concur with a few posters reg: the need for us to see a more watertight defence and the wherewithall to increase the difficulty of opposition teams to score and dictate play. Of coarse a more creative and game controling forward structure-s that applies more scoreboard pressure especially against the more potent teams would balance any slipups in defence for some of us supporters .
In other words a better defensive and offensive presence (than 2012) regularly displayed as the hallmark of 'Saints footy' for 2013. If the Saints continue to keep improving in both defence and offence similtaneously we'll be back in the 8 again.
GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Re: What do we want to see
Okay...so I know this started for NAB cup but for the 2013 season..I would wish for
Lots of goal scored by the Saints and tough defence
Roo kicking straight through the middle of the goals
Lenny winning a Brownlow
Saints looking fast and fit through 4 quarters..not just 1 or 2
Improved disposal of the football - More of the team being able to kick on their left and right foots
Young kids stepping up.
Saints enjoying their football...although last year I could see the beginnings of it with the new game plan
Winning the close ones...there was a few that we let slip last year..Port Adelaide, Freo, Richmond, Adelaide
Milne kicking a bag and sticking it to the opposition...especially Collingwood, Carlton, Geelong...okay against everyone
Saints playing finals again
Saints winning a premiership and Goddard saying...i shouldn't have left
When you dream you got dream big...

Re: What do we want to see
SAINTS to finish higher than Essendon!
SAINTS defence to progress with of without Stanley down back.
SAINTS to win the majority of ruck contests and centre clearances!
MAISTER @ Wilkes to play Full Forward instead of Kosi.
LEDGER to regain confidence and take first options on the burst!
SAINTS younger players to start pressuring the senior team for positions!
Scotty to lesson his work load - delegate and not sound so tired all the time ! He cant possibly be at his best when he is exhausted - he needs to find the right work life balance!

Kosi running through Dawson again but this time doing it properly.
Luke Ball back at Saints.
Fremantle going bust and not honouring remainder of Lyon's contract.

Agree no injuries is vital.Eastern wrote:What do I want to see? Blokes wearing St Kilda jumpers running around a footy field. And, as plugger stated: No Injuries !
Also, I hope we play in Melbourne in round 4 of the nab.
We won't make the GF but hopefully a Melbourne game still.

Of course we will play them 2 weeks in a row. Why would the club want that anyway?
