I know one of the guys working on AFLTV. He says pressure from above to get it launched before the start of the season but that it'll be touch and go. So maybe it's worth having a look around for some less legal options rather than relying on it.
He also says that everyone at the AFL who doesn't have revenue in their KPIs wants to get a long way away from Telstra - but unfortunately the cash payments are too nice to let go of.
Seems to be half baked and only listing the following teams, however maybe just a work in progress?
1. Brisbane Lions
2. Geelong Cats
3. Collingwood Magpies
4. Melbourne Demons
5. Richmond Tigers
Haven't signed up yet (they've reissued a new password now it's swapped across). However very excited that its available for pc's, phones and tablets!!! The other site was good as it me my fix and was reliable. However was written in flash so couldn't watch on my phone! (For those early London mornings at half 5 you couldnt watch it on your phone). heres hoping its an improvement on the last.

I tried it with the iPad connected through Apple TV and it was pretty good. Can't see myself getting out of bed before 2PM on a Saturday.

I am going to try it Sat nite 11pm my time on an Apple iMac using a cable modem. I am hopeful after reading other people's experiences. Will be great if it works - watching a live game after 20 years away from paradise.
I will let you all know how it goes.
BTW I ave been complaining for years that the AFL has been very short sighted in this area. Every - and I mean every - American guy I know remembers watching footy on Thursday nite at 11pm on ESPN about 20 years ago. They all say the same thing - those funny goal flags, cant understand the rules, where are the pads, just loved it to death. A big wasted opportunity for fans and funds.
agreed
they are missing out on some big coin i reckon
even the basketball in australia experimented with some live streams a few years ago now
it was pretty average but with the money the afl could pump in would see it much better
