Better luck next year guys.

Lol. Yes, I noticed that nearly half the list is either on the leadership, mentor or emergering leaders group... and the press dare to say we have a paucity of leaders at the Saints! As if... :D

Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

The 'mentor' group is just a show of respect IMO, they are passing on the guard...but in a respectful way IMO.

Doubt they'll do much other than maybe answer a 'what would you do' every now and then.

I actually reckon you are totally wrong. They will have plenty to do. Well nearly as much as the other leaders. For a start they attend every leadership meeting.

Notwithstanding the fact there's heaps of these things being handed out, what a terrific achievement by Tom Curren to get a gig while still being a Rookie listed player.

Must give him confidence that he is on track for an upgrade at some stage.

Well done Tom :)

From memory the saints early days under Grant had a senior mentor group, not sure who else but included Andrew Thompson, can't remember if Burkey was there or gone

Full list if who is in which group here

what's the difference between leadership and mentor groups? probably not a lot. in terms of what they do?

leadership praise one another for how they go about it.

the mentors demonstrate how to go about it.

and the emergers try to go about it.

the coaches think about it. the CEO worries about it. and Saintsationalists talk about it.

May have some merit .... this team was certainly not a pack of spuds between 1993 - 2000.

Oh so he was born in Subiaco Italy......................... not Subiaco Western Australia?

I didn't know he wasn't from WA.

He must have come to the West as a young lad to do all his schooling, university studies, training as a medical doctor, serve the state as a WA State pollie, play cricket for WA, play hockey for WA. Have a mentoring role at Freo footy club all those years ago etc etc etc. Before turning his talents to doing things for Australia & NZ.

I suppose he came from the 'burbs in East Bentleigh?

Sarcasm. Of course I knew he was from WA. He made a century for me in dice cricket. I am amazed that SW has finally used WA influence. i think this is the first time. Surprising but he is a Sydney boy.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Markworth also there , but yet to see written list

which would make a group of 6...
Pretty interesting that Curren (a Rookie) is on the emerging leadership group.
Pretty sure he will be replacing CJ on the senior list at years end.
