For those who may be interested in following the Saints players not in the Saints side
the Development league of the VFL Fixture is now available

http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page ... D=21634997

and I have intergrated it with the Saints and sandy fixtures here
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=78626&p=1289042#p1289042

due to there being less teams most play one another 3 times and Sandy play Frankston 2 weeks in a row at the end of the year.

What happened to the zebraman, he was a good source for Sandy news

The list changes for 2025 have begun, always an interesting time for an avid supporter.

I still be around Dr.... Watching....observing....realising that that there's 2 schools of thought....

1. Saints supporters wanting players developed....perfectly understandable.

2. Sandy supporters like me wanting Sandy to win games...

Getting those 2 schools of thought into one is difficult to achieve....

Last year Chris Pelchen spoke at Sandy(...... I was at this meeting

He stated that teams at Sandy would be selected one 1 criteria only.........

FORM....Could't agree more....I left this meeting feeling pretty positive about season 2012......

Unfortunately this did not happen in 2012.

2 players in particular were selected on a continual basis when their form did not warrant senior selection.

Winmar and Shenton were the 2 players.

This went totally against what Chris Pelchen said would happen..

As a result of this, players left Sandy...

I disagree when players sign up for the year then leave because they don't get senior selection....I spoke to one player in particular about this and he chose to stick the year out when he could quite easily have pulled the pin...I was very disappointed that Irving left as I had sponsored him for 2 seasons...he should have stayed and fought for his place in the team...Lourey was different....he went to Mt Eliza which is probably where his ability is at...he has chosen to sign for Frankston in 2013.., let's see how his ability is rated there...I can say from talking to players and officials at Sandy that he will not be missed at all...in fact I am glad he chose to leave...it's hard to think of more unpopular player to play for Sandy and I have been involved there for many years........

However I understand the reasons for doing so. Mick Meehan was a better player by a long long way than Winmar or Shenton....yet he was continually overlooked....if Winmar or Shenton were Sandy listed players they would have been shipped out tp local comps like the Amateurs or EDFL etc as their form was not up to VFL reserve standard, let alone VFL senior standard

Matt Stapleton was another continually overlooked...he has signed to play with Bendigo in 2013

As stated above, I understand that Saints supporters want players developed...

As a Sandy supporter, I just want wins. Nothing else...

Sandy have been a very very successful team...we are the most successful team in the last 30 years in the VFA/VFL and I want that to continue

To get the St Kilda way of thinking and the Sandy way of thinking together as one is something I hope can be archived.

Whether this can happen remains to be seen

Nothing would please me more than both teams being successful.

Happy New Year to all Saint/ Sandy supporters

May 2013 be a year that we both remember fondly.

Zebraman....

Springvale had won 4 premierships in the six years prior to aligning with STK

They have played finals consistently since we left Casey Fields.

Sandy had won 4 premierships in the 8 seasons before alignment with STK

best thing Sandy could do for their own good, is go it alone.... Financially tough though, but you will not succeed partnered with us... Port, now Wlliamstown are going that way... Best thing AFL clubs can do is the same!

Reality is, we couldn't win a root in a brothel with a fist full of 100's.... In case you didn't realise...

Its not actually the best thing all clubs could do because a 20 team comp wouldnt work and the losers would be the VFL clubs. And go knows where they would get players from. Just weakens other comps and even grounds would be hard to find.

BigMart,

You're probably right...

In an ideal world, St Kilda would have their own reserves team and Sandy would go stand alone.

However...that is not the case so we have to try and make the best out of what we have got and as Plugger stated, with a 20 ( or more ) team comp then it would be pretty hard to manage.

The way the comp is changing who knows what shape or form it will be in a couple of years

Tom Cameron will be playing at Ormond all year as he isnt up to Sandy seconds yet. Most players mentioned are seconds players at sandy. What that has to do with the Saints is beyond me.

Really. Who would have thought. Again what has Sandy seconds players got to do with a Saints forum and to make it a sticky is very strange indeed. I suppose it is because Bambi started it. People complain about to many stickies and we have one for Sandy. Weird.

If it bothers you so much, why do you comment in it?

You must have a lot of spare time to worry yourself over a sticky...

If it bothers me why wouldnt I comment? Look I followed Sandy before we joined them but I dont think they have enough to do with a club to warrant a sticky.

Good Luck Charlie
Paul Amy‏@PaulAmy375

Charlie McAdam, the son of ex-St Kilda and Brisbane star Gilbert, has hooked up with Sandringham in the VFL. Potentially exciting recruit
be nice to see your dad around at Sandy games..

Great attitude, WRT the alignment.... The old Ross Lyon school of thinking....

Why would I waste my time concerned with the strength of Sandy?! His record of developing players speaks for itself

Because a strong seconds team accelerates development in skill execution and club culture... IMO a strong and healthy alliance is critical to sustained senior success.... We get our players from the sandy team, or our players go back there...

Watters identified this early in his tenure
