Spencer White Injury

Post: # 1290908Post sasaint »

From the AFL Pre-season guide:
Tall forward Spencer White arrived at the Saints in recovery from a broken wrist, and is yet to take part in full skills work.
So when did this happen  I don't remember anyone mentioning this before. Another injury we can do without although I expect few expected White to be in the seniors in 2013.

Check to spencer white 20 page thread . ( I think thr other newbies should be worried they haven't attracted that much attention)
I vaguely remember comment on draft time, but not splint (not cast) at AGM seems fine in holiday snaps

Yeah he had an operation on it around draft time. The club kept it very hush hush I think, but Sam Lansberger mentioned it on the HS online site on the night of the draft (said that some clubs were surprised he was taken as early as he was because of concerns about it), but it was quickly removed from his article, so maybe we asked them to take that part down.

In one of the photo's of him in Utah he had the dressing on it still and apparently he could be seen in the background of one of the intro interview video's (of someone else that we drafted in the ND) with a cast on it, in his first week at the club. Pretty sure he had his hands behind his back in his video interview, so I would suggest that was to keep it hidden.

If you click on the photo of him on this page, you can see that he had it wrapped up during the season this year (if it was his left wrist): http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page ... D=20802048

The clubs were apparently all aware of the issue prior to the draft, so I expect we would have done due diligence on it and believed it was going to be OK.

Almost exactly what I was going to write. He is a medium term prospect anyway so was never really going to impact anything.

Yeah we can give him all the time he is likely to need to get that healed and hopefully it does heal really well and isn't an issue for him for the rest of his career.

Just a bit off topic, but when I went looking for that photo that shows his wrist wrapped up I found this photo which I hadn't seen before, which is very impressive!: http://www-static2.spulsecdn.net/pics/0 ... 40_1_O.jpg
