IMO we need - 1 to 2 A graders soon and some real quality support depth or we will fall away badly
Established players

Senior mids - Lenny, Montagna, Jones, Dal (Ray, Gilbert, Schneider)
Middle age mids - Armo (Geary, Milera)
Young mids - Steven

Up and coming mids

Ledger, Newnes, Ross, Curren (Dunell, Sippos, Webster)

This year's draft

Wright, Saunders

-----------------------

As has been said we have only 5 established mids, so I expect to see a combination of the following...

- Schneider, Gilbert, Geary, Milera getting more midfield time
- Newnes, Ross, Ledger and Dunell being given midfield opportunities

Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

You can definitely see why went pretty hard for Caddy and I expect that we'll be targeting anyone like him that becomes available in next year's trade or free agency periods pretty hard.

This year it was ruck and FB, next year it will probably be FB and midfield.

Hopefully Ledger, for one, really steps up this year though. The year that Jack Steven had last year (2011) we'll ideally want something like that from Tom next season, although hopefully not as a result of someone like Lenny missing a huge chunk of footy and opening up a spot for him. Hopefully he just has a huge preseason and demands to be picked through his early form and pushes his way in there.

Dom Tyson would probably be the dream result next year, but unless we tumble down the ladder and finish bottom 4 (which I don't see happening) it's hard to see how we'd have anything that we'd be prepared to give up that GWS would be willing to take for him, if he still wants out then.

I see Markworth as a mid.
I reckon Tezza should will get a lot more mid time this year.
But I agree this is the key issue. We have all been in a lather over a fullback - but if our mids can get on top of their opponents they make life down back a lot of easier... And if the mids are being thrashed it wont matter of we have Steve Silvagni down back.

Put your hand-up if you want to play midfield this year?
