Interestingly, I tried to find out what Danni's abilities, skills and track record in working life are. All I could find on google and Wikipedia is that she's a former national hockey player and girlfriend of Deborah Hutton. Can anyone help out here? I sincerely hope this appointment isn't a nod to tokenism.

Danni Roche holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Bond University, is a Board member of Hockey Australia, a member of the extremely successful Australian Hockey Squad from 1989-1996 and a gold medallist at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. She was awarded an Order of Australia in recognition of her services to Sport.

In her professional life Danni works with Evans and Partners in Melbourne,moving from UBS where she was a Director of Wealth Management. Who cares which side she bats on, she is one very cluey business woman, and not only in sport. Her CV reads like a been there done that at the highest level and succeded, not only as a team player an Olympian but also as an administrator.

Seems to have the runs on the board (pardon the awful pun and mixed metaphor). That's all any member or supporter can ask of a board member. Btw that so called interview was awful.
