Sorry K and MSG, I was too slow stuffing around getting my post on this up, so have deleted that, and am joining yours.
Hopefully next season Jason can move ahead of James Blake on the all-time list of career Brownlow votes received.
Onya Jason!

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
from AFL.com
When St Kilda's head of football, Chris Pelchen, was asked whether the Saints were disappointed in the Cripps deal, he hesitated before saying: "We're satisfied.
"Our preference was for Jamie to stay at the club. Like Mitch Brown wanting to return home, we were compassionate with Jamie who wanted to return to Western Australia.
"He made it clear he wanted to be with family and we were compassionate with his needs.
"Hopefully that comes back to assist us one day in the future."
In the end a smart move to play ball, good will for the following year when we give them a pick in the 40's for Brown

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
Scott mentioned that if Hooker'? - pretty sure that was the name- hadn't elected to sign a one year contract then the deal may have gone through for Brown

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
So the wet toast did agree to a deal dependent on replacing brown with a bomber. So obviously brown wasn't untouchable and the coasters did have some compassion for a player returning home. Bloody essendon shafted us twice
Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
No West Coast had no compassion and will be treated with contempt in the 2013 trade talks, pick 66 should do it.

But we may not even go after Brown in 2013.andrewg wrote:No West Coast had no compassion and will be treated with contempt in the 2013 trade talks, pick 66 should do it.
Or if we do, so may others who are prepared to give WC what they're after.
We gotta move on.

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
We now have to pick up a large defender in the draft. Lets hope he is coming along nicely by the end of the year, and we dont need Brown.

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Watters could sell ice to the Eskimoes. This Cripps deal was a big fail by Bains/Pelchen, no matter what ever way you look at it.

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
It was that or let him go into the draft for nothing. As many have said, if Hooker hadn't pulled the pin very late in the piece then Brown would be a Saint, Cripps an Eagle & all this ridiculous carry on wouldn't be going on.Heidelberg_Saint wrote:Watters could sell ice to the Eskimoes. The Cripps deal was done in the last few minutes to get something. We've put up with whining for the last 3 years that we should have got something for Ball....well this situation saw the club do what people wanted.

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
Animal Enclosure is right.
We got nothing for Ball. Everyone complained. Said we should have taken a 3rd round pick at least.
So what happens with Cripps? We upgrade 2 x second round picks to "get something" at least - and everyone complains!!

Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
How do you know we paid overs before these guys have even played for us yet? Any assessment of them is purely subjective. How do you know Geelong didn't pay overs for Caddy? You don't, it's all guess work. At this point any trade could fall flat on it's face......even the Goddard one.bobmurray wrote:Agree.....we were the only club to pay oversplugger66 wrote:saintbrat wrote:http://www.sen.com.au/audioplayer/Audio ... tters/6373

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Watters on SEN at 5.05pm
Only upgraded on 2nd round pick, the other one was given to us. Considering they were WCs top two pick that we got I'm not sure what else we could've gotten?Legendary wrote:Animal Enclosure is right.
