I haven't posted on here for months. I've been one of those who has been alienated.
But I felt a need to say, there is never a need to use images of disabled people this way.
Did it really enhance anyone's dignity, on this site, to use a degrading image this way?
What's that about?
That disabled people = white trash? Is that what you want to say?
And even more disabled people = white trash = Collingwood.
So disabled people are effectively just a symbol of being a piece of crap, eh?

You're right... it enhanced nobody's dignity.


"Side by side we stick together"... clearly the image is intended to suggest that Collingwood supporters tend to be less intelligent, on average, than all other segments of society. It pokes no fun at 'disabled' people; it seeks to use them to poke fun at Collingwood supporters. Fact is, those with intellectual disabilities... and the lord will take care of them and they will inherit the earth... tend to be at lower intellectual planes than average (hence, the idea of their having a disability), due to no fault of their own, and it is tragic and painful for them and their families.

Equating the intellectually disabled with Collingwood supporters, at the intellectual level, is what was intended here.

And there is NEVER anything offensive when that suggestion is made (nor, for that matter, is it inaccurate).

Collingwood supporters are white trash, and part of being white trash means being culturally excluded, intellectually challenged, pig-ignorant oxygen-thieves.

But ya know what... we're Saints fans... we have these discussions... because we're better than them. So your input was great.

Normally I don't type much - being only a socket in a pup, and dyslexic, it isn't easy. But this needs a response. So in my best 'Dr Spah Chah Mien-type' voice I shall try to take a broader and more balanced view than in my previous post which is in question. I just hope I don't end reverting to my 'Anthony Mundine-type' voice by mistake;

Without dragin' it out anymore, there could be several of ways at looking those pictures.

1/ Sure they are politically incorrect, but a little political incorrectness never did much harm. They are also bloody funny used in the context of the post. So maybe lighten up a little team?

2/ "Disabled people = white trash" is a conclusion drawn by some OPs. However, that is not a conclusion that came to my sock mind, nor one that I intended.

3/ The post is disrespectful to people with disabilities, as has been wisely pointed out. (Reminders to make us stop and think never did much harm either.)

4/ The post is disrespectful to people with disabilities, as it links them to a Joffa meme.

Maybe there is some vaildity in all the above, but particulary points 3 & 4.

Personally wont delete the images as I don't find them offensive and with all due respect two or three people being offended isn't enough of a representation of the whole sites views on the issue.

But more importantly I think you have made a good point about moderation, I hate to say it but I think a lot of the mod/admin have stepped away from the site a bit including myself because TBH some people on here were taking the site way too seriously.
