Joel Tippett
Now that it looks like Brown is out of our reach, I think we should be targeting the state leagues. It seams as if Joel could be the standout could. Could he be a benifit to the Saints and would we be able to get him cheaply?
Re: Joel Tippett
With the Brown trade looking unlikely (at this stage) I think it's reasonable to suggest looking at high performers in state level footy. From what I've read about Joel Tippett he's given himself every opportunity to get a second chance at AFL level. We could potentially pick him up with a late selection. I don't mind the idea, however I'm not very familiar with his ability.
Re: Joel Tippett
This is where the obligatory "ha ha" gets inserted. Seriously though, he is an option we have been looking at - how seriously, I'm not so sure.

Strength through Loyalty
Go those mighty Sainters!!

Re: Joel Tippett
I've now heard of three different state level players that we are looking at....Tippett, James Thomson and Kyle Hartigan. All around that 24 year old mark and big lads.

He had a back injury, not sure how serious.St Ick wrote:Injury prone - wasnt he injured recently and couldnt go to the state combine?
Not sure on Hartigan. Tom Lee's already kicked a bag on him at state level!

Re: Joel Tippett
Lets take all 3 and hope one of them comes on… unload Blake, Clarke & Ray… who are probably either too old or NQR anyway.Old Mate wrote:I've now heard of three different state level players that we are looking at....Tippett, James Thomson and Kyle Hartigan. Re: Joel Tippett
I didn't mind the idea of Tippett until I saw him play live in SANFL Second Semi Final. Even though he played for a team who employed the mega flood he seemed to panic like a rabbit caught in headlights every time he had the footy, also didn't look the type to be able to handle monster key forwards. Maybe it was just a one off as his whole team was rubbish that day but I wouldn't be falling over now to get him. BTW could not get a game at GCS in their first season.
