Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
Apparently a total spud according to most on here. I guess West Coast have no idea about football compared with the SS team.

Pies are the winner here. Clearly IMO.

We differ then. You will get more votes as he plays for pies.

Just my opinion. Nothing to do with him being a Pies player. 17 is a great pick.plugger66 wrote:8856brother wrote:Dime a dozen. Not worth 17.plugger66 wrote:Seems fair for both sides. Wellingham can play.

Re: Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
Wellingham is a good player and showed in patches this year that he can be an absolute gun.
Prior to his hit on Simpson, his form was unreal. He was in a patch of footy which would be worthy of AA contention. I think that hit and all the scrutiny it threw him under shattered his confidence though. When he came back he was half the player.
Reckon that's a fair trade. Although there is certainly a lot less risk involved for the Eagles. They know what they're getting. Pick 17 could be anything (good or bad)

We couldn't afford to keep him. Like I said, the rich get richer ... which must stick in the craw of a communist like Demetriouplugger66 wrote:bigcarl wrote:And we get pick 13 for Goddard.

I thought this. They keep everyone they want then the one that wants out they get very fair compensation for on day two of trade week...70s sainter wrote:Do these pricks ever lose on a trade or theft of a player (filth that is) I guess they just lost on the cloke deal.

We couldnt afford to keep him because we must have stuffed up our salary cap or he wasnt worth keeping. We could get a low pick if we want to trade away a good player. Nothing to do with the rich getting richer.

Get off the fence Con, do you think he is worth pick #17?Con Gorozidis wrote:Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17

Actually if you look in your last thread, no-one called him anything remotely related to a potato… nearly everyone thought he was worth about a second round pick… even Plugs who rates him thought 2nd round… You asked us if we should give up pick 13 for him
He is a good footballer, but I think 17 is a high price in a good draft & I don't want to see collingwood get any more decent picks for guys like friggin' Dawes & Wellingham… Let me guess Blair is worth a first rounder now too. f spare me.

Supply and Demand.
West Coast have an open Window and will pay to go the next step. They are not rebuilding they are reaching for a Premiership.

Re: Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
Reckon WCE have overpaid - Wellingham can play no doubt - but worth a 2nd Rnd DP, say 26+ plus maybe even a 4th Rnd DP going back IMO
What does that make a KP like 24 yo Dawes worth then?

Re: Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
WCE have definitely overpaid but I reckon our chances of getting Brown now are dead in the water because you get the feeling that WCE will be wanting at least a 1st round draft pick for him to replace the one they just lost.MCG-Unit wrote:Reckon WCE have overpaid - Wellingham can play no doubt - but worth a 2nd Rnd DP, say 26+ plus maybe even a 4th Rnd DP going back IMO

WCE are very happy for Brown to stay the only thing that will pique their interest is a first round draft pick and he is not worth that.
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
Re: Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
It's a premiership window trade. When you're up you overpay for reasonable players who can fill gaps, as the Hawks did with Lake. Pick 17 makes no difference to the Eagles this premiership cycle. Collingwood just got lucky that Wellingham wanted to go to Perth not Brisbane.MCG-Unit wrote:Reckon WCE have overpaid - Wellingham can play no doubt - but worth a 2nd Rnd DP, say 26+ plus maybe even a 4th Rnd DP going back IMO

We chose not to pay what he is worth on an open market due to the new policy of having a number of players getting good money vs a few on awesome $s and the rest missing out.plugger66 wrote:plugger66 wrote:We couldn't afford to keep him. We winge about Pies keeping their list together saying they must be rorting the cap but Watters is from that club and straight away adopts that model... timing just sucked that the first year we implemented it BJ was out of contracted and decided to put himself in front of the crest he so passionately punched with fist...

Re: Wellingham to Eagles for pick 17
Just goes to show what a disgraceful individual Filthy Eddie is.
Demands pick 17 for a limited time midfielder but only offers pick 30 in a compromised draft for Luke Ball.
