Wasn't Tom Lynch recommended to the Saints by Loewey? How are the recruiters supposed to tell the difference between the ones he gets right and the ones he gets wrong?

But also, with 57 games in 5 years with a poor team, who's to say we got this one wrong anyway?
There is getting it wrong and getting it wrong.
Tom Lynch might have been a fair 3rd round pick.
Stefan might be a good 3rd rounder right now.
But how we spent a round 1 on Lynch Ill never know. I still believe they thought they were drafting the GC guy

That's quite true Con, and I'm not sure too many could mount a case to say we didn't get Lynch wrong.
However Stefan Martin is quite different. To not take a bloke who went through to the Pre Season Draft and who has played 57 games in 5 years in a bottom side, can hardly be called a mistake. And that's the case regardless of whether we're considering now.

I feel dirty doing this.....but I agree.
Id do this trade - reckon Martin has some upside and certainly at 198cm, mobile can ruck and go fwd he'd be handy.

Well I traveled back in time, actually got my uni degree instead of dropping out, became a recruiter for my beloved St Kilda. We selected him and he was a bust.
It's okay though, I also picked Judd instead of Ball, got Beams instead of Lynch, didn't trade Lovett and selected Fyfe instead. We won in 09, 10, 11 and 12.
Well I'm going back now to swim in my pool of money and dance with my wives.
