Daniel Currie
FORMER Sydney Swans ruckman Daniel Currie looms a NAB AFL Draft smokey, with several Victorian clubs believed to be interested in the 200cm 23-year-old.

I'm sure we would be one of the "several Victorian clubs" interested.
Would make a handy back up ruck to have on our list.

Re: Daniel Currie
I would say Currie is one of the many options we are looking at.Ralphy wrote:we have been talking with hickey why pick him as well?
Doesn't necessarily mean we will draft him.

Re: Daniel Currie
Because we need at least 3-4 real rucks on our list. At this stage is McEvoy and no-one else as core rucks. Stanley, Kossi, Blake, Wilkes do not cut it. Most clubs have a good 3rd ruck on their list. At Sydney it was Seaby (and Jesse White as a good 4th); Hawthorn had Bailey; Carlton have Hampson/Warnock etc etc.Ralphy wrote:we have been talking with hickey why pick him as well?

Re: Daniel Currie
I would have thought we would recruit one ruckman ready to play now, and a young one to develop via the draft. Darcy Fort, Lewis Pearce, Chris Prowse and Cameron Symonds all seem okay to me.

Definitely!
If he comes good, he can be coined 'Hot Currie'.

Re: Daniel Currie
Averaged 11.2 disposals, 4.3 marks, 1.7 tackles and 23.1 hitouts in SANFL this season. Didn't really hear of him actually setting the world on fire. Was at Sydney for a while without making any real impression. Still big guys often take longer but reckon drafting a young ruckman is a better prospect.

Re: Daniel Currie
Another option for Football Nation.
UPDATE: 4/10/12 - FREMANTLE ruckman Zac Clarke wants to be traded to a Victorian club and has told the Dockers he wishes to do so. Clarke is one of many ruckman up for grabs including North’s Hamish McIntosh, who has told the Roos he wants to be traded to Geelong.

Re: Daniel Currie
Don't write Currie off.
He's only 23 years old.
May be something of a "late korma"
