Strange choice for the GF Sprint
We have Armo representing us.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx
Would have thought Saad, Milera, Steven or a repeat performance from Stanley would be better.
Pace does not seem to be Armo's strong suit...

Maybe they took someone in for a wet weather track. He's got a nice low centre of gravity so might rake through the mud nicely.

Perhaps he's faster than what we give him credit? Maybe he's out to prove the doubters wrong??

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
Go Armo
if he gets through to the final you'd think he'd have Hudson and Brown covered...
although given they are up against Dangerfield highly unlikley they will be in final.
Ahmed did have minor surgery last week- maybe why not available.

hes slow as treacle. ill guarantee that.
surely they are taking a lend of us. also looks like brisbane are having a bit of fun with it too.
i think maybe the saints arent taking this as a 'serious' event.
they probably said - who wants a free gf ticket? and armo said ill have it.
then they said - oh there is a catch!

If he is as slow as treacle I would hate to see how slow I am !!

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
It's a 100 metre race, not 20. Armo may not be that explosive in the shorter distance, but over the full 100, how would we know? They rarely, if ever, sprint that far in a game. Could also be a tactic to protect the hamstrings of our genuine "racehorses".
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
Armo is more agile than we give him credit for...he did win the agility test at draft camp, surely that indicates he's quick over 5-10 metres in close. As for his sprinting he certainly isn't slow, but I would have thought Terry Milera, Stanley, Markworth, Saad and even Gilbo/Ray were quicker
oh when the saints

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
i would strongly suggest this isnt an event we are trying to win.
I would say they asked around and Armo took one for the team for a bit of a fun and a free GF ticket.
I dont think its something players would be gagging to do.
He aint very quick. But dont get me wrong. I love him as a player.

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
Bob Murphy explained Ben Hudsons appearance in the sprint
had told an international friend he could get tickets for the game- he couldn't but the sprint attendees get a double pass....

Re: Strange choice for the GF Sprint
Who cares about the sprint...doesn't mean you're going to be a world beater, doesn't mean you won't have dodgy hamstrings...
Will we pick up a player in the SSP window
