Australia’s UN Bid Dramatically Falls In A Heap

Our bid to gain a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council was going very well. Prime Minister Gillard had trumpeted Australia’s efforts in regards to foreign aid and our large commitment to international peacekeeping missions. She spoke of Australia’s “she’ll be right mate” carefree attitude. “Australians are wonderfully warm, caring people” she told the assembly. “We believe in tolerance and understanding and are always there to lend a hand to others”.

Gillard emphasised that Australia can be a role model to the rest of the world; a place where all people regardless of their backgrounds and views are treated equally and with respect.

The voting nations looked very impressed and the bid appeared to be a fait accompli.

But then the “elephant in the room” appeared and in an instance the PM turned as white as a ghost. She looked close to collapse.

Government officials immediately went into meltdown. A great deal of effort had gone into avoiding issues such as Cronulla and the Sydney riots from rearing their heads and, in doing so, derailing the multi million dollar bid. However ultimately they had not been thorough enough.

And as such, years of hard work came to nothing as United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon suddenly rose, and with a voice of great authority announced,

I usually find the use of profanity lazy and vulgar but I feel that the word “d!ckhead” really captures the essence of how you come across on this site. It’s that simple. I could have called you a moron or an imbecile but it doesn’t capture what I really want to say.
