How many members will we lose if BJ leaves?
I reckon if he leaves this will signal to our supporrters we are not challenging next year.
Watch a good 3000-5000 members drop off....

5000 less would make us the lowest in Victoria…
Surely most saints fans can handle a few years out of the finals, we've spent most of our lives that way.
I don't think it will effect membership at all.

I believe we will get more memebers next year as the saints are playing a more attractive style of football .
This year i went to most matches thinking we could kick 100+ points , the two years prior this wasn't the case .

Really!!!! If membership commitment is dependent on this or that player staying then we can well do without those sort of members!

Plenty of gaps this year in reserved seating, plenty more next year if he goes.
We have fickle supporters, more than most I reckon.

Should be 3 - Brendan, Mrs Goddard and Mr Goddard. Players, coaches, fickle supporters, they all come and go. If they're not doing their bit to make this club great, then they can walk. Your either part of the solution, or part of the problem....

What a vapid stupid, idiotic thread
Lance or James??

Re: How many members will we lose if BJ leaves?
Most people on here don't mind the possibility of him leaving if it benefits the club. So I wouldn't say many.

Re: How many members will we lose if BJ leaves?
I'm starting to wonder if there won't be a few secretly disappointed Saints fans if Goddard does stay. I think a few fans have already spent the comp pick on Caddy in their heads and got a wee bit ahead of themselves. I'm predicting a few people looking at Caddy in another team colours next year and seeing Brendon run out for St Kilda in 2013 and watching the first game, where Goddard might have an alright game but make a couple of errors, and those people getting stuck into Goddard on here like there's no tomorrow. "Should have bloody jumped ship you useless hack!" Too late now Godz, you're a saint for life. For LIFE!!
But I agree with JB on this occasion, this thread is right out of the saintspremiers Trolling 101 handbook.
3000-5000 fans? If you'd said 30-50 you might have looked a little less foolish. Just think about what you are saying for a moment.
Think.
3000 people, who - regardless of what we do with our compensation pick - think that we are not ambitious enough, AND think that finals is definitely not possible next year AND don't see the point in buying a membership if we don't play finals. 3000 people who think like that, and not just any old people, 3000 Saints fans, starved of success since footy began.
Think about it.
There, now you see don't you?
Yes, it's too high a number.

If a ST.KILDA SUPPORTER does not sign up for a membership because one player takes a cash grab elsewhere, then they are a f****** idiot - nothing more, nothing less. It will make such little difference to our bottom line that it wouldn't even be worth mentioning.

All the single ladies raise your glasses if you feelin
I can say we can turn this party to the party
If the feelings right

Now tryin to be alone girl I'm tryin to take you home

Re: How many members will we lose if BJ leaves?
I can understand how some members would think Geez they expect us to be loyal and yet our players cant be.
Some members find the cost a lot especially if they are a family and then watch as one of their fav players goes for the money.
I wont be dropping off though, but I can understand how some would, but they will jump back on when we start playing well.
After 50 years I dont think I could stop now, but please dont go BJ
BTW dreamed last night that he stays, but the name's mullet not nostradamus

It costs us nothing to remain loyal. Nothing! It costs quite a bit to follow the Saints but it would cost just as much to follow another team. The only way we can save money is to give up the footy altogether. With someone like BJ it could, depending on the figures, cost him $1m or thereabouts to stay loyal.
I hope he stays. But If he goes for a huge lump of cash it won't diminish my thoughts on loyalty one iota.

But those 3 will be countered by our first draft pick and mr and mrs draft pick, for a total loss of zeroSt Chris wrote:Should be 3 - Brendan, Mrs Goddard and Mr Goddard. I don't think we will lose any members if Goddard goes. I think most ppl realize the club is handleing this well and I expect our membership to increase next year. Also if goddard goes then we wil be serious players in the free agency so that will go a long way to negating any negativity around goddards departure, that's if he goes.
I love this club
