Re: Two wins in a row against Carlton
Speaking of which, what is it with that idiot announcer at Jihad that yells his head off at us.
Prior to the game he pointed out and emphasised that our record against Carlton was the worst by any club against any other club (he forgot GC and GWS) and kept bleating on about it, and they put the stats up.
Wasn't that our home game?
Don't we get any say in what happens before a game?
Why is that idiot allowed to rubbish us at our home game?

What made you think it was our home game when it's "Carlton vs St Kilda" not "St Kilda vs Carlton"?!Enrico_Misso wrote:Speaking of which, what is it with that idiot announcer at Jihad that yells his head off at us.

Just hear Ratten's BS presser how he was pissed off Watters said Carlscum were emotionally charged. As it was their home game, I'm sure they were happy for a bit of the Ratten farewell factor to come into it to increase the crowd.
I assume as only 31K bothered to turn up plenty of Saints fans snubbed the match and denied a lot of revenue into Carlscum. Nice work Sainters

What made you think he wrote that post in September when he wrote it in May?

And some people didnt care if won or lost. I tell you I feel a lot better today winning yesterday than I would have losing. Now it is up to our recruiters.

Lance or James??

Re: Two wins in a row against Carlton
It didn't get us into the top 4 or even the finals but it was a 2nd. win in a row against the carluns. Happy for the young guys in particular to experience a win against historically a powerhouse club. At the start of each year i think to myself 'the 1 team i want to see us beat is the blues' and then geelong and then coll.....
Anyway to having or really wanting to have f*xte** i hope it encourages the players over the summer as there were a fair few games that slipped between the fingers on the scoreboard. A second preseason and more gametime for the up and coming Stevens , Siposs,Saad and Simpkin etc and who knows?

Re: Two wins in a row against Carlton
I think it is 3 wins in a row anyway, didn't we beat them last round in 2011 at the G aswell?
When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

No it was their home game, I was getting emails from the club about it so assumed it was ours too.Enrico_Misso wrote:Speaking of which, what is it with that idiot announcer at Jihad that yells his head off at us.

As Mozart (Kosifantutti) pointed out above - Enrico made that post in May when it actually was our home game.gringo wrote:No it was their home game, I was getting emails from the club about it so assumed it was ours too.Enrico_Misso wrote:Speaking of which, what is it with that idiot announcer at Jihad that yells his head off at us.

But seriously, that announcer is a complete prat. They could at least give us Russell Morris back to MC our home games.

I started this thread in May and have bumped it now that it is three wins in a row. Hence all the confusion.R. Harvey 3 votes! wrote:I think it is 3 wins in a row anyway, didn't we beat them last round in 2011 at the G aswell?

Re: Two wins in a row against Carlton
We are only 108 games behind Carlton.
If we extend this streak from 2 to 111 we will be in front.

Re: Two wins in a row against Carlton
Remember when Carlton had the slogan "Can you smell what the blues are cooking?" campaign.
I think we can now all report back that yes indeed we have got a whiff of it. And it smells like something emanating from Jimmy Buckley's outside toilet on the morning after a big night out.
