Milne - Coleman watch

Post: # 1258290Post kosifantutti »

The clubhouse leader is Hawkins with 62.
Milne needs 7 to tie with him 8 to beat him.
Petrie still going and Pavlich and Riewoldt still to play
10 goals against the rabble tomorrow would be great to see.

can't see him getting there, unfortunately. needed ten last week to get at all close, i'll be happy if he kicks four tomorrow.

My tip is Milne -4, GR8 if he can get more, but delivery to him will be crucial.

He'll get 7 in the first 3 quarters then Dean Margetts will pay a crucial borderline free against Milney who took a
speccy in the forward fifty with one minute left on the clock ...

Pavlich with 2 and he's level with Hawkins.

Jack Riewoldt 3 behind the leaders and playing Port at home is the only other threat to Milney.

Unlikely but not impossible. I reckon he'll know what he needs to do.

If he starts well, say 3 in the first term, it'll be on!

if he had kicked 2 more last week tomorrow would be really exciting... 5 is a distinct possibility - 7 = possible but unlikely

would love to see him wind back the clock and kick 11 ala VS Brisbane in 2005 (IIRC)

62 - Tom Hawkins
62 - Matthew Pavlich
59 - Jack Riewoldt*
59 - Lance Franklin
57 - Drew Petrie
55 - Steven Milne*
* = still to play this round

How about Riewoldt kicks 3, Milne kicks 7 and it's a four-way tie

The umpires will ensure Milne does not succeed.
The umpires took Milne's discussion with Harry O'Brien personally.

Petire and Pavlich have both played.
Milne needs at least 7 goals plus 4 more than Riewoldt to tie for the Coleman.
(That''s the Riewoldt that kicks goals not the one that's paid a million to kick behinds and out of bounds).

Ace do you mean the Riewoldt that plays Full Forward, not up at Centre Half Forward, the most difficult position on the ground and wouldn't play there for a million bucks a game and whinges every time the ball isn't kicked to him? That Riewoldt? Remember our Riewoldt, that's the one who works his arse off every game playing previously pointed out most difficult position to play was on 49 goals and in the top 6 of the Coleman Medal before he got injured against Melbourne? I think that's a pretty good effort for a bloke who as you said "gets paid a million bucks to kick behinds and out of bounds". You sir are a flog.

Congratulations to Milney! Once again he proves that he is the best small forward in the game by finishing 6th in the Coleman Medal with 56 of the best! The most goals for a player in his position on the field at the ripe old age of 32 is an achievement that should not be underestimated. Milney is a legend!! He was eight goals ahead of Eddie Betts his nearest opponent in tems of small forwards, once again well done Milney!! I have a correction to make regarding my previuos post. Roo had 47 goals when he sustained his injury, not 49.

On the subject of the Riewoldt's Ace Jack's accuracy was 57.5% and Roo's was 60.3%. Make of that what you will but I would say that with Jack having 113 shots And Roo having 78 I would have to say that Roo was much more efficient in front of goal even accounting for the fact that Roo missed the last 3 and a half games of the season.
