Re: Tippet
Any reason behind that? I'm not too sure on our current cap situation etc. Does he want to come to Victoria?plugger66 wrote:We have exactly 0% chance of getting him.
Re: Tippet
Could be one knock away from retirement for all anyone knows.
He wants to go home to QLD by all reports.

Firstly he wants to go back home apparently but that can change just look at Mitch Clark. The main problem for us if we have no money in the salary cap to get him so that means we are no hope.

What if BJ goes. Would you go after a marquee player?plugger66 wrote:Calais wrote:Any reason behind that? I'm not too sure on our current cap situation etc. Does he want to come to Victoria?plugger66 wrote:We have exactly 0% chance of getting him.

Re: Tippet
If he goes it frees up about 600k per year. That's a fair bit of cabbage.dragit wrote:If he goes, it means that we can't afford to keep a marquee player.Cairnsman wrote:What if BJ goes. Would you go after a marquee player?
Re: Tippet
nah, it means we can't afford to keep a guy who thinks he's a marquee player when we think he's just a very good player. and neither should we break the bank in a situation like that.dragit wrote:If he goes, it means that we can't afford to keep a marquee player.Cairnsman wrote:What if BJ goes. Re: Tippet
I just ran a model. 0% chance.
key variables.
1. he will want/get 700k a year x 3.
2. he is from qld. no interest in victoria.
3. hed only leave the camrys for a big offer + home.
4. we have no cash in SC
5. we have nothing to offer the camrys
6. i think GC have higher cap than most clubs so have AFL $$
out of interest - how does boak get to geelong? he cant just say oh im going to geelong can he? he can only say ok well id like port to trade me and geelong is my preference?

Re: Tippet
If he doesn't want to live in Adelaide, and he's not from Victoria, why the heck would he want to move there? Worse beaches, worse weather, worse traffic. It's basically a bigger Adelaide with naff all to do except go to the footy.

Re: Tippet
Doesnt he have clause in his contract that says he has to be traded to Brisbane in last year of contract if he wishes.

We already have Kosi. One slow as treacle and clumsy oaf is enough.
Are we waiting for a saviour?

Re: Tippet
i dont think it was just to bris tho thunda
he had some clause that if he wanted to go at years end (a year early??) or something like that, last year
but you could be right
it'll be interesting to see how far the crows go into sept and then his decision whether to stay or go home to the north

Re: Tippet
Maybe it was GC or Brisbane, but have feeling it was definitely to QLD. Personally reckon he is very overrated and wouldnt be worth the $$$ he would be asking. He's apparenly on $700K this year at Adelaide!matrix wrote:i dont think it was just to bris tho thunda
