Very bitter taste.
Yes, we were robbed of a draw. No point analyzing it, it was a bad call at the most critical point of the game that we were on the end of.
Both teams had their chances to ice the game and despite the lop-sided scoring shot tally, we probably should have won, or at least earned a draw.
What really blows now is Kosi, Milne and Simpkin could be in trouble.
Devasting finish.
Still, very proud of the boys.

We undo our own good work too often with stupid play when we have the run of the game

With a slightly cooler head - Collingwood would be saying that we should have been buried long before the last minute, but bad kicking is bad football - truth of it is, unfortunately, we ARE good enough, just not tonight!oh when the wrote:We undo our own good work too often with stupid play when we have the run of the game
Re: Very bitter taste.
simpkin no priors will be ok.
Other 2 very interesting. May be they should compensate us
for a disgusting umpiring decision & not worry about Kosi & milney.
hope this decison occurs to another side one day in a GF........preferably the Pie trash.

And, even though I like him, Jack Steven's 40% disposal efficiently really let us down at the most inopportune times.oh when the wrote:We undo our own good work too often with stupid play when we have the run of the game
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Very bitter taste.
The bitter taste is because there is a feeling of finality about that loss. I'm not sure this playing group will be contenders again. And that is heart breaking. If we made the eight this year, there would be one last roll of the dice... and to think we won't get that opportunity. That really hurts.

We have had an up/down year as many sides with a new coach do.

We would have just beaten a major contender if not for disgraceful umpiring. It would have been a long shot, but there was a chance.Teflon wrote:Even IF we make the 8 we are not contenders this year - what planet u on?battye wrote:The bitter taste is because there is a feeling of finality about that loss.
