I don't care what anybody says about Ledger, he would have provided more than Polo tonight. As would have Siposs, Newnes, Cripps, Milera, even Peake & WIlkes would add more for mine…

Surely Dean's last game?, thanks for everything, you gave us your all.

Not really. It was our second quarter and our poor entries that cost us.

Polo was earmarked for a role that the others couldn't play so there is logic behind their selections. In Waters defense, he didn't recruit Polo who has had minimum game time while he has been coach.

Did he play on Daisy?

Daisy lifted in the last, that's why I asked.

Yeah, the Polo selection was baffling to say the least. Polo and Wilkes are not the future of this club and they are certainly not providing anything in the present. I would much prefer to see, for instance, someone like Dunell playing in the starting 21. At least there's potential there.

Oh god, what friggin role was that Pav?
Newnes and Cripps are HB flankers, Ledger and Ross are mids, what could Deano possibly do that they couldn't?
Scott didn't draft him, but he did pick him this week, Polo's last game at AFL level, I have no doubt whatsoever.

What changed in the last half, what suddenly saw the mids get their hands on it?

Or was it all driven from half back and turnovers?

Our entry was poor until the last quarter, way too shallow with the entry.

Kick it deep, that's all I ask.

I obviously don't know but they can't shut out a player like Daisy or who ever he was earmarked for. He's also bigger bodied than those players you mentioned.. Filth have some big boys.

Don't worry, Dean will be gone in a season or two if not sooner.

I'll ask one more time, was he on Daisy?

Cause he played like someone off the leash in the last.

The Polo selection was very defeatist but I can understand there rationale with trying to shut down Shaw. Dunnell in a 1/4 and a bit did more than JONES and POLO acheived in all their game time. The bigger selection issue for me was te continuance of playing Kosi in front of Wilkes, Siposs and Markworth. Kosi is completely useless and we seem to bomb th eball in more when he is up front because he is useless on a lead !

I don't know.

At least I admit I don't know unlike some other footy experts on this site.

So what's your take Sceptic? Do you reckon that Watters could have coached better and that the players could have played better last night?

TSFS said he was brought in to play on Heath Shaw.

Polo then CJ played on Shaw...

While they did not shine neither did Shaw.

CJ was on Beames.. but was getting done. So one tagged subbed for Dunell...and CJ onto Shaw.

The reason we lost was not the match ups... it was mainly:

** our poor disposal by foot and hand early on (In the first quarter IMO we dominated play but slaughter the ball)

and then:
** Milne allowing HO to sucker him in (yes the last free was not there, but Milne had three earlier stupid acts against HO as he got suckered)
** Ben getting spanked by Jolly in the first half

Why is there never an admission by the coaching staff that our Ruck got smashed, seems to always put the heat on the mids?

Jolly was good, but he IS GOOD, and if I remember rightly his first goal was when kosi was rucking
but Ben was one of our top rating players
our mids got smashed in the second, they balanced that out in the third
the trouble with us vs them, is the depth they have in the middle
their first tier is VERY good, and they dont really drop away too much after that, they even had the luxury of "resting" Swan in forwardline.

Maybe because we only have Ben. He has no-one to swap with him. Kosi is clearly ona player who can spell him.

Whereas with mids we have many options and rotations.

Late change last week, Wilkes in for Siposs. Wilkes useless, subbed out early in third quarter.

Late change this week, Wilkes out for Polo. Polo useless, subbed out early in third quarter.

Do I see a pattern here? Watters is a very good coach, but this rubbish with making late changes every week is schoolboy stuff. Pretty sure he's made a late change in 17 rounds so far. Must be a world record.

Still, think it's unfair to blame the mids.

TSFS today showed some of Jollys tapwork, straight to Pies mids, silver service.

Who would you like to ruck for us?
