The Cats look hot right now, but if the Hawks turn this around, it could break the Cats spirit, à la the painful memory of Hawks comeback against us in Rd 12, 1999.

I think that moment was THE breaking point for us and marked the transition point between our brief success in 1996-1998 and the bottomless failure of 1999-2002, was it not? The same could be up for the Cats if they drop this. It would certainly suit us (for our finals chances this year) better if they did, however much more I'd prefer the Cats to win than the Hawks personally.

I doubt VERY much the Cats would fall from grace if they lose as we did after that Hawks loss in 1999.
They are far too good a side for that.

Well We now need to beat Collingwood and Hawthorn and Carlton to get 8th unless Essendon falls completely but I doubt that given they will get players back soon (against North, good)
