Terry Milera
Can someone tell me please who goes to Sandringham games how is Milera travelling?
The game against Carlton I keep remembering his fantastic game, I hope this kid can find the consistency to become a high level player.

Re: Terry Milera
He will, he was just showing signs of fatigue in his first season. He has enough tricks to suggest he will be a regular with another FULL preseason in him. Just needs to keep working on the hard stuff to go with the glitz.

Re: Terry Milera
he's never actually played for sandy yet, except a practice game in pre-season. he played in the afl side from round one until two weeks ago, and last week was a bye at sandy. this week will be his first actual vfl game.Vazelos wrote:Can someone tell me please who goes to Sandringham games how is Milera travelling?
personally i wouldn't be worried about him. most players find it tough about halfway through their first season, he's no exception. has shown a lot and hopefully has the maturity and motivation to really put in over the remainder of this season and through pre-season next year. not much improvement needed - mainly consistency of effort - for him to be a really good player.

Re: Terry Milera
1st full season of afl is a big step up! even for a 23 year old. mentally and physically taxing. so i think 10-12 games is a big tick for a first season.
Certainly exceeded expectations. Get another pre-season in to him and hopefully we get 16 games next year.

Re: Terry Milera
the good thing is we have other players who can play the HFF role so we can chop them in and out!!!Con Gorozidis wrote:1st full season of afl is a big step up! even for a 23 year old. mentally and physically taxing. so i think 10-12 games is a big tick for a first season.

Re: Terry Milera
If he finds form at Sandy he should be brought in for another tilt at year's end, particularly if we make finals. Like to see him, Saad, Sippa, Crippa, Simpkin & Stanley all play in a final if we make it.

Re: Terry Milera
Needs to bulk up his upper body and to start making those tackles stick. At the moment he's so light that he just bounces off.
However he does have terrific skills and vision

Re: Terry Milera
sounds like you've given up on a flag this year and you just want to give them a run in a final? i'd rather we give it the best possible shot of winning one, personally. play whatever team is best fit for that purpose.hungry for a premiership wrote:Like to see him, Saad, Sippa, Crippa, Simpkin & Stanley all play in a final if we make it.

I think quite a few of those players are in our best 22 already! Siposs, Simpkin, Stanly, Saad.

Re: Terry Milera
Thanks for the feed back guys, Milera will make it I am sure, you are right suggeting another pre season will help immensely.
Genuine pace and balance like that I have not seen since N Winmar was in a Saints jumper.
He adds a different dimension to the team than most players.
I look forward to seeing his development in the short term.
Absolutely stoked on some of the 2012 inclusions:
Saad
Milera
Simpkin
Rys Stanley stepping up
Newnes- think he will make it
Dunell- promising debut
All bodes well for the future.

Saad Simpkin Stanley are in our best 22 atm... i would want to see them in the team playing a final.bergholt wrote:sounds like you've given up on a flag this year and you just want to give them a run in a final? i'd rather we give it the best possible shot of winning one, personally. play whatever team is best fit for that purpose.hungry for a premiership wrote:Like to see him, Saad, Sippa, Crippa, Simpkin & Stanley all play in a final if we make it.

Re: Terry Milera
Milera is unlucky to be dropped IMO. With Milne, Schneider, Saad all in the forward line there wasn't room for him there and he had to play more of a midfield role which hurt him a bit. I think he might need a few retirements before he becomes a regular but when he does I think we'll see him go back to being the game changer he was early in the season.

Re: Terry Milera
It would be good to see Snides extract the digit and take a game on. I've got memory issues so can someone please remind me when he last bagged 2 or 3 goals in a game?

The Essendon game. I know it was just over a week ago & hard to remember but stillCairnsman wrote:It would be good to see Snides extract the digit and take a game on. I've got memory issues so can someone please remind me when he last bagged 2 or 3 goals in a game?
Re: Terry Milera
Schnides has been absolute gold this season....
He has been playing as a part time genuine midfielder, saw him quite a bit in defensive goal square around the stoppages against the bombers....
scot will want our young small fwds to bring this into their game to add versatility, this is why, as mentioned above, terry has been given a rest and does need a little bit more bulk to stick a tackle as a mid...

six, ranked third for the side along with lenny. more than about 40 players on the ground.BigMart wrote:How many tackles did he lay on the weekend..... Look that up
Schnieder that is
make no mistake, he's a very good player. he'll be pissed off at missing a couple of goals but his role isn't really to kick bags at the moment - he's showing his versatility up the ground as saad fills his old spot deep forward.

6 Tackles. did you just want to know or was there a point to the question?
Re: Terry Milera
BigMart wrote:Yes, a very simple one.
Do you need a quote??
No i just thought you had a computer and could look it up yourself so it seemed to me there was a point. Maybe you didnt think he had to many tackles at all.
Anyway you have your answer so why did you want to know? Surely there was at least a point in knowing.

Hasn`t played well since Roo told him off after that his confidence and flair went down started second guessing what to do when he got the pill.
