Best for us tonight IMO, solid 4 quarters.
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Re: Tommy Simpkin
Saw him up close in the VFL a few weeks back and he is a cut above the class down there.
Looks like he will be a great defender for years to come

Re: Tommy Simpkin
Is light years better than Zac Dawson.
Are we waiting for a saviour?
I'm so sick of waiting!
I've been waiting my whole life!
This is a new day!

Re: Tommy Simpkin
Na they're about the same standard. Simpkin is tougher and smarter, but Dawson is taller and quicker. Both solid, dour defenders, would prefer Dawson due to his greater versatility size wise. Still like Simpkin though.Little Dozer wrote:Is light years better than Zac Dawson.

Haven't seen him live but sureky would have to be better than Dawson in the one on ones (or does he turn his back on the ball too)?dcstkfc wrote:Na they're about the same standard. Riewoldt and Goddard to live up to their reputations ,Clarke and Ray to defy theirs in 2012!

Re: Tommy Simpkin
The one time Simpkin was beaten in a strength contest, it wasn't badly. He was playing mostly on a guy who is about as big as anyone in the league in terms of body mass. I don't think he has the mobility to cover the quickest of the leading forwards, but I'm not all that worried about his size. He's clearly a KP back and IMO he's a really good one. I'd much rather Tom than Zac at this point.dcstkfc wrote:would prefer Dawson due to his greater versatility size wise.

Only 40 dream team points but he did his shutdown job effectively.

Re: Tommy Simpkin
T Simpkin might have finished the career of R Clake.
Simpkin an absolute gun in many areas of the game. Just love him.
I rate Jimmy G very highly but looks like he wont reach his usual standards this year. Probably needs a proper pre-season to play to his true high standards.

His head has to stay level so it doesn't tip back and cut off his air supply. Similar problem to John Merrick...
