Brisbane match day weather: Rain very likely

Post: # 1238247Post saintspremiers »

Currently rain periods for Saturday. Showers increasing Friday.

Rain period forecast for Brissie is a worry. Could mean torrential up there.

How does everyone think we will go on a wet track?

It's not the MCG and doesn't drain super fast, so the ground surface is very likely to
be wet/soft under foot.

Looks like the return of the Polo?

Roo's marking will be effected but if it's wet and slower then it might bring Kosi more into the game.

Lenny will love It and be BOG.

If it's wet and slower I wouldn't even play Kosi - can't recall him ever being effective in the wet - aside from a game at the MCG in 05 against the tiges when he was going through his golden patch.

If that's the case, then we need some hard bodies:

Possibilities:
Farren Ray (full game)
Ledger
Polo

Exclude:
Milera
Saad (knee)

I would just make the one change:

Out: Jack Steven (suspended)
In: Ledger (Sub)

Emergency: Newnes, Curren, Polo.

Wouldn't mind seeing either Newnes or Curren given a go as they seem tough.
Polo would be only be a temporary solution.

Curruen ( unfotunately) can't play UNLESS they place someone on LTI and that doesn't look likely
He is still a Rookie
the only other way is midseason upgrade But this is reliant on TPP and from all reports we are so close evena cup of coffee wouldn't get an upgrade.

Its been raining up here for a few days now but is meant to clear somewhat before the weekend. If it doesn't rain much in Brissie till then, the Gabba mighn't be too bad.

Lol Doc!

Actually Ringo would be handy to run with Rich. And Paul could sit in a forward pocket and put on a show...

I remember reading once that when the lads were filming 'Help', they and the film crew had challenges with running races and stuff in between takes. The crew were that confident they would run rings around the Beatles, who they considered unfit, smokers and drinkers.etc. Anyway, they boys were great, especially Ringo. People forgot that the Beatles had to move fast when leaving concerts and stuff, cos they were always getting mobbed. So they could move quick when they needed to.

Of course, when they stopped touring, their fitness levels went downhill! John once lay on his sofa for a week doing nothing. But i guess their systems would have been all f***ed up from years of aircraft travel, partying and shagging. Its amazing that they found time to record their first 7 albums.

Wet weather doesn't mean we should play dribblers. Polo is nothing but a list clogger right now, any game given to him is a waste of everybody's time.

Great, ... another slogging, annoyingly boring (to quote our ex - leader Blighty) 14 point snorefest win at the Gabba coming right up (sigh).

We assume it will be a scrap.

Everyone also assumed Swans, Blues and Dons would be much of the same kind of result.

Perhaps the new gameplan may not be so bad at the yo gabba gabba?

I think most are assuming a scrap because of the weather and maybe the ground conditions. Im not sure many would have thought the Blues and Essendon would be a scrappy game. That doesnt mean we thought we would win though.

I just ran that through the Translator. It came up with "WTF" but I don't know what that means.

I think, in fairness to everyone (especially us), the game should be moved to Docklands.

Can I ask why you are still on this forum? Didnt you quit like a 10 year old about 2 years ago?

Even when it's mild, it's dewy.

I reckon Wilkes will be the key here...out of the big 3 forwards I've seen play in the wet, he is the best of them.
Hope he kicks a bag!

The Yo Gabba Gabba :D is wet no matter what after 5.30pm.

Great to watch footy at. Real beer in little al fresco out door bars with expansive views. Seriously top notch. LOVE it.

Pity though that more often than not you're watching blokes on skates chase Leather of the Imperial kind...

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
