Congrats Milney
Well done to milney on a great milestone game !
5 goals 1 , and a real spark we needed in that third quarter !
good to see some things don't change though , gave away four frees !
the umpires had there whistles poised every time the ball went near him .

Re: Congrats Milney
Yes, congrats Milney.
But did he get a free kick when he was almost steamrolled into the dirt near the goal square when he kicked that goal? I doubt it.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Congrats Milney
Hopefully that sends a message to those calling for him to be replaced. Tezza and Saad will get their turn over the years but as far as I'm concerned he can play on as long as he wants. Can't replace his goal-smarts.
Congratulations on 250 wonderful games for the Saints. A true champion.

Milne's milestone no small feat
It is not often I get carried away with small forwards. I used to reckon they were little cheats, will-o'-the-wisps who would sag off a pack, kick a goal and then punch the air. You felt like belting them just for being out there. But I take my hat off to St Kilda's Stephen Milne – 500 goals and 250 games. He's had some highly pressurised moments in his football career. I don't think he'll ever speak to Mick Malthouse again, but when you step back and look at it he has been the dominant small forward in the game in modern times. You could argue cases for Phil Matera or Mark LeCras, but for sheer consistency over a long period Milne has got it. Sure, opposition fans hate him, opposition players dislike him and we've even had Hayden Ballantyne mimicking him. But Hayden, there is only one Milney (and some people would say "thank God for that"). Milney, Saints recruiting whiz John Beveridge gave you the chance and you grasped it. Well done, for travelling such a hard road and doing it so well.

Re: Congrats Milney
good old Mike was going on about Milne 's record in Finals on Monday night and how if he had to choose in would pick Matera ahead of Milne , so I went and had a look at Phil Matera's record in finals, wait for it ........ games - 9 goals - 6 so not even one goal a game lol
