Re: Memory lane- Plugger's 11-
Just watching now.
How the hell did we win this???
Plugger awesome, but jeez he was undisciplined.
If he didn't mark it, it was usually a free kick against him!

Re: Memory lane- Plugger's 11-
What a win!!!
Gee, Plugger really made a mess of Caven's nose. Split it right open across the bridge!
Loved Plugger having a go at the gutless pricks over the fence too.
Great scenes at the end with the seconds players and supporters all running onto the ground. Footy's changed a bit!

Great game. Wasn't old enough to appreciate Plugger but could watch him all day.

Saints by 1 point.
what sort of Player was Doug Bailey- never heard the name before?
Happened to see the second half in a pub in Clayton.
What a great win...great memories.
One thing that strikes you is his accuracy...it seemed every time he came in for a set shot it went straight through the middle!
Of course, I also remember that the AFL punished us for having the temerity to beat Sydney....Plugger was given 8 weeks, which stuffed our season.
The 'incident' was shown over and over again in slow motion which made it look like Plugger set out to kill Caven.
In fact what happened was Caven was charging straight at Plugger with no thought for the ball. Plugger raised an elbow to defend himself.
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

No matter how many times I see that video I never get sick of it. Unbelievable

Good thing it was Caven he got and not Watters. We wouldn't have a coach.

Probably my second favourite H&A game after the infamous Moorabbin Caaaarlton epic game with the Daniels-Winmar-Lockett-Goal to snatch the win!

Just a routine 10 goal haul from Plugger... . It was so common back then the other players must have expected it every week!!felix wrote:Plugger kicked his tenth and not one person patted him on the back, they just got on with it.
