personally i'd have saad in if riewoldt misses. with kosi, stanley and siposs in the team there are enough tall options - add milne, schneider and saad and you've got plenty of goal-kicking power. wilkes doesn't really add anything to that.

Well, if that's the case, then we are going to be SUPER slow and back to the same OLD and slow side which will never beat Essendoom next week and struggle against Norf. We really need both Saad and Milera in the side somehow (even though Tezza hasn't been setting the world on fire).

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Clearly some fun and games at selection here because if not this side looks old and slow.

I dont agree with the "we revert to this side for fear of losing games and members" - I reckon most members arent idiots and know we arent genuine flag shots right now BUT will accept that as long as they see hope. Hope is something Saad, Siposs, Milera, Stanley had been giving us along with pace.

I heard Watters talking about how Norf like to play fast - we know Essendon do - go with this named side over the next few weeks and I reckon we'll be to slow.

Sounds like Roo is right to go and as most of us suspected Milera dropped due to form
http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsartic ... fault.aspx

Despite speculation Riewoldt is still suffering from calf tightness, Watters confirmed the skipper is fit and ready for Sunday’s twilight match.

“He wouldn’t be playing if there was an injury…he’s fine, he’s good to go,” Watters said ahead of the side’s final training session for the week on Saturday.

“We’re really pleased that Nick’s available, but we’ve been pretty focused on our team results this year, and our forward line playing as a team. He’s a key ingredient and a key part of that.”

Watters said the Saints’ relatively healthy list has given some of the team’s emerging players a chance to rest up in their first year on the field.

“We’re pretty close to having a full list available and we think we’ve really developed our depth this year, so it might just give us the opportunity when those players are feeling a little tired or fatigued to give them a break. Terry (Milera) has probably fallen just outside of that at the moment.”

When I saw Saad as an emergency I thought the same thing. I also think that with Milera out we really need Saad in!

As selected team has too many defenders.

For with Stanley in, Blake is just a defender.

One should come out for Saad.

Not much chance Nick Riewoldt will play IMO and not only this week.

Wilkes and Saad will play IMO

That's what I think will happen as well - Saad in for Milera
And Wilkes in for Riewoldt, if he doesn't play.

All 3 emergencies held over for Sunday, so we won't know until 90 mins before the match.....

Bit hard for Saad to come in for MIlera if MIlera's not playing either

SW is foxing. Why say Roo is cherry ripe then pull Ray out of the squad and replace him with Wilkes? ...then keep all 3 emergencies out of the Sandy side

Maybe because something left field is going to happen.

Ben McEvoy out or something?

I thought Milera played last week, and if Saad is over concussion, would replace Milera in the 22, as a small forward

Yes Watters is often foxing.....

SW IMO is lying not foxing. But it's within the AFL rules.

You have too think that if they let Roo play out the game against Adelaide, his injury can't be one that will stop him playing.
However, I'd be happier if Saad or Milera play because they do add that x factor plus speed to the group.
All the results this weekend have gone how we would have liked them.
Just today's, this is an 8 point match, win today and we are effectively 2 games inside the eight.

Don't you think that if you can work it out that the opposition could easily work out what's going on which might mean that he is not lying after all...
