Re: Gram
What was the actual issue.... What did you want him to do .....
It was a s*** slow kick off the goal line, which a good spoil without giving a free was completed...
Tippett did the same thing to drop a mark 30 seconds later which would have been a shot
Or indeed Blake and Sam fisher allowing Tippett to have a free run at the ball whilst watching, ending up in a sore head for Kosi??
What about Grams effort 1 minute later on the boundary
Or perhaps L.Hayes effort on Scotty Thompson??

L Hayes aint the one the coach has deliberately singled out as a player at the cross roads and needing to "rethink" where hes at.
He chooses when to go time and again.

Re: Gram
He's not alone, Lenny keeps missing targets, Kosi has been rubbish, Big Mac poor, Fisher disappeared, Jimmy and Goddard not sighted, Milne is having a shocker etc. they are having a pretty ordinary game while the Crows seem to find new ways to score

FRkn hell Gram can do no wrong in your eyes.
he has been disgraceful tonight.
You have a go at Steven, well at least he has a go.
Gram has been lazy and REFUSES to put his body in.
Should be fkn well dropped.
Lance or James??

Re: Gram
Gram has never been the heroic player but his actions when it comes to the hard ball are now insipid. And if I here one more commentator say how good a kick for goal he is I'll kick the Telly. Simpkin deserves a game way before gram now days.
Re: Gram
We should have a poll, I love polls....
Whose 2 hours were a disgrace and no longer deserves to pull on the red white and black?
This week we can choose between
Milne
Kosi
Gram
Roo
Clarke
Have I missed anyone, I think Gilbert is out of the naughty corner now?

Re: Gram
Gram moved back into the passenger seat again last night.
It's just the ongoing lack of effort at chasing, smothering etc that drives me nuts.
Maybe Aaron Hammill needs to pick up another mentoring job with Gram, to show it's the first, second and third efforts that win you the ball.
If not, Gram, it's time to leave

Re: Gram
Laughable thread.... He was not great.. About 4/10. But 8 were worse.
Provide examples. Not one, or we could highlight poor efforts by Gwilt*3, Blake*3, Clarke*2, Fisher*2, Dal, Goddard and Milne possibly 5
Gram probably made three average efforts.... He made the only smother and won some contests. He was beaten for the first time in 2012 .... But not to the extent Gwilt and Blake were smashed

Re: Gram
Gram has always been an outside player. Maybe the coaches value his disposal, better than some of his team-mates, so perhaps the plan is for him to hover around outside the contest, let Lenny or some other hard-nut win the ball and feed the Marshmallow.
He can then kick to a lead, or go deep deep deep, into the F50. He's a bit more precise than a lot of others. That's his value to the team.
But if the coaches keep telling him to be a receiver, he thinks he doesn't have to chase/tackle/smother "Not MY job !"
I agree on Hamill showing him how to go HARD.
Opponents can be 100% certain that taking on MarshMallow, is like taking on one of their children in the backyard kick-to-kick before dinner.

Gram had 5 clangers -one of the highest if not the highest in the side.BigMart wrote:Laughable thread.... He was not great.. About 4/10. But 8 were worse.

The coach has PUBLICLY questioned him and earlier this season put the acid on him for a reason - why???????????????? cause he has history FFS.
To constantly "compare" him to say Hayes's stuff ups is to completelymiss and ignore the point.
Wake up.

Re: Gram
Thought you didn't care about stats?
Seeing they are suddenly important.
He had 8 contested possessions which is high for him, had 5 clearances (BJ 2, Jones 1, Hayes 4)
I still don't see him being dropped.

Re: Gram
Gram had five clearances, not five clangers. He had 2 clangers. Fisher had 5 clangers, Gwilt had 5, Gilbert had 4. Dempster had one and Clarke had none, despite his laughably bad kick-in. If we're going to slaughter somebody for turning over the ball, Gram isn't going to be anywhere near first in line.Teflon wrote:Gram had 5 clangers -one of the highest if not the highest in the side.

Re: Gram
Gram has the potential to break the games record at the club. He fails to chase and finger points at others to do so. He never puts his body on the line. He doesn't attack the opposition ball carrier. The only time he tackles is when he's second or third person in, or an opponent falls into his arms. His direct opponent invariably finds space and he's a lazy kick of the ball. As a result, if he continues to be selected, his body should be fresh enough to bypass Tuck's record of VFL / AFL games.

He's lazy or or gutless. Either way it doesn't set a good example. Either way others deserve to be in ahead of him.

Get the Cheer Squad to put on the banner against North: "We luv U Grammy !" surrounded by pictures of nice fluffy pillows (from Linen House, of course)
