Attacking Footy!!
St Kilda 2012 very exciting to watch, love the free flowing, high intensity, high scoring games but have we become to attacking and need to have a stronger deffensive focus i'm thinking as enjoyable as it is to watch at the moment it's equally frustrating having big scores kicked against us and losing.
100 percent behind the saints 100 percent of the time

Ruck coach, tackling coach need to take a good look at themselves!
Goal kicking coach apparently last seen running naked towards Nullabor!

Riewoldt and Goddard to live up to their reputations ,Clarke and Ray to defy theirs in 2012!

Who would have thought, 12 months ago, that we would push a top 4 interstate team, at their home, to lose by just 4 points having given up 100 pts in 3 quarters and getting only 2 goals out of our bigs? We just haven't done shoot outs in a long time. Refreshing.

As Bruce pointed out last night during the game, shootouts in the current era require enormous running and energy as opposed to the traditional set position players shootouts years ago.Rosco wrote:Who would have thought, 12 months ago, that we would push a top 4 interstate team, at their home, to lose by just 4 points having given up 100 pts in 3 quarters and getting only 2 goals out of our bigs? Takes enormous fitness to achieve successfully. Points to a very good preseason by the boys.

Re: Attacking Footy!!
StKilda has lost 3 games when scoring over 90 points this season. In previous 3 years this happened once, Round 20, 2009 vs Essendon (110-108)
So guess it begs the question, are we too attacking and we leave the door open to much? History will probably tell us that you lose more shootouts then you win. Are we still trying to find the balance or will this be a regular thing where opposition scores 15+ goals?
