Blake's Brownlow Year
My tip for the Brownlow - Jason Blake.
At least one vote at last.

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
Maybe dye his hair blonde and add extensions and maybe the umps would notice just how much he does.
Not confident he'll pick up any votes. Hope I'm wrong as it would be the brown low highlight (outside of jack or Lenny winning it).

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
If he doesn't get a vote then all the winners of this medallion, durring Blakes time in football, should chuck the thing in the river. It's become joke award. (yes I am shining it on bit to emphasize the point)

Reckon there has been enough noise about it this year that the umps will notice him.
I just hope he gets an invite so he can be there when the room cheers

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
I agree he should be issued a special invitation to the Brownlow.
There is a record to be broken here and he can pass the baton back to the other player, whoever he maybe, for the number of games without a Brownlow vote.
The only problem is we know the games he should recieve a vote for, but what's the chance the umps give a vote to Gablett ahead of The Blake?

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
He should have gotten 2 votes for this effort, one for each of the backwoods hillbillies he took on here. I can't take credit for finding this link but am happy to give the credit if the source wishes..., however, whenever one of the Scotts appear, I imagine the banjos starting to bash and twang...BigMart wrote:He could get votes in two games this year
Once again, gotta love the Blake.

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
Regardless of if he polls votes in the midfielder award, Jason Blake is the type of clubman that builds a club and a culture.
He has played under Watson, Blight, Thomas,Lyon, and now Watters, and has rarely been dropped.
Has played, back, forward, in the mids, in the ruck, has tagged players such as Goodes with success, has rucked against Sandilands and co.
He has done everything asked of him and more, showing his team orientation by being delisted and redrafted so the team could put a higher paid player on the vets list.
A true Saints man who has always tried his best with his limited abilities, and has never shirked a contest.
To me it is moot if he ever wins a vote in the mids award, the umpires wouldn't know s.hit from clay, jason Blake has the respect of football supporters who know anythign about spirit and sacrifice.
Kudo's = gotta love the Blake.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I guess I have formed my opinion of Blake based on his ability to produce some awful decisions over the years and it clouds my judgement to a degree.
That being said there are not too many players in the league that have played in so many positions as Blake and most importantly performed.

He did back in 2001/02 I think?desertsaint wrote:Maybe dye his hair blonde

Re: Blake's Brownlow Year
I thought J Blake making the ruck spot in that team was someone kidding around. Good stats this week though.
