Foxtel Commentary
Using the term VERY loosely I thought the commentary last night was the most pathetic and woeful effort of all time. How many freakin times did Pickering just mutter on about how good the Sun's youngsters would be if they played for Geelong without even a scrap of evidence. What about if they played for US? We were playing weren't we?
For almost the entire third term I think they hardly even mentioned us - and at 3/4 time they just said we hope they can win this term - they being the Suns as if we did not even exist - no complimenting our players - nothing - just jack shite about us.
I just do not get it - how many of those watching are in the slightest bit interested in how the Suns go now or in the future?
You would think it was so obvious that we would trash them and that our players would dominate that they only really gave us a passing mention when we got a goal or did a major botch up - the rest was just unrelenting trivial claptrap about the new team.
Who gives a flying FLICK?

This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.
Re: Foxtel Commentary
One sided matches are always like that mbogo, they have to talk about something...make the opponent relevant, even if it's in their irrelevance.

Re: Foxtel Commentary
There were relatively one sided games in the past (don't we know it), but the commentators still stuck to calling the action rather than lapse into continual introspective comment. Had I been a Suns supporter I would have put the foot through the TV. Yes, it was just woeful.

Re: Foxtel Commentary
I noticed that to mbogo. It was pathetic, my better half suggested that they must have a recording of the commentators and they just keep replaying it

Listening to Paul Roos talk about the game was very interesting. He still has a lot to offer...

Re: Foxtel Commentary
Agreed, it was how bad they were, not how well we were going... what do they expect?
They were perveying a really negative perspective... typical of the media these days.
Paul Roos bores me, him and Ross nearly ruined footy for me.
Btw I thought the umpires we terrible also, they missed so many frees, and some they paid were baffling.

Re: Foxtel Commentary
Honestly, this was a practice match for premiership points. I didn't take any notice of the commentary, bar for injury updates.

Re: Foxtel Commentary
Their joke about the location of Kosi's injury was mildly amusing the first time.
But after their tenth reference it was about as irritating as that obese lady with the whining voice on the Coles adds.

Roos didn't add comments. He was delivering endless lectures! It was painful. And amid all the verbiage he said absolutely nothing. And the less said about Luke Darcy the better. Just about every commentary team is a jokedefacto wrote:it was terrible. roos just kept crapping on about how to coach

Re: Foxtel Commentary
For what they had to work with, I thought they were OK.
The Saints were playing witches hats. Many passages of play looked like a drill. We should have been critisised by the commentary for being wasteful and not winning by 20 goals against that hapless rabble.
The commentary is for nuetrals who may be out of their minds and watched that travesty. They have to try and keep it entertaining.
Roos and Lynch were OK, with Roos giving some interestign insights.
Look they battled hard and it wasn't Brian - wow wee - Taylor with his endless and repetitive Jack Steven/Geelong Falcons line.
We did what was expected, against a team that is clueless, leaderless, and souless. try and talk about that for two hours.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Alastair Lynch, but Luke isn't much chop either. I'm afraid Dennis, Bruce and Leigh are tops and the rest pretty hopeless.

Couldn't care less normally, but it did become a WEE bit tiresome hearing them highlight the Suns deficiencies rather than give us some credit.....there again a win helps ease the angst!

Re: Foxtel Commentary
Very few commentators call Saints games without a stronger focus on the opposition - Just saw the 2010 Drawn GF yesterday - hideously one-sided commentary. Bruce calls the game like he is surprised everytime the Saints do something good. - Still does it this year.

Their body shapes are quite similar.
When one of them gets in the play on the far side of the ground it is quite easy to mix them up - I've done it several times.

Re: Foxtel Commentary
For many of the Foxtel exclusive broadcasts, they only have 1 caller and 2-3 so-called special comments men - so they have to pad a bit to give him a spell. But yes they do waffle on a lot. You will hear comments on what someone should be doing, while there's play in the background not being called !!
Like most TV and radio commentary, nearly always negative - they would rather tell us reasons why team A is losing, rather than why team B is winning.....

If I was a demons supporter, I wouldn't be handling todays call very well.
Dennis and Bruce seem very concious of Mick sitting there.
