Siposs's Goal-Kicking

Post: # 1228070Post bergholt »

I thought this kid was a great kick at goal but yesterday he missed a lot of relatively easy ones, kicked 1.3. In fact he hasn't kicked many this year.

Is that because his role's changed a bit? As a high half-forward he needs to run a lot and I got the sense last night that he was puffing too much when it came time to kick. That said, he obviously had 20 touches and it was his best game for the club. But if he's used to playing key forward then it's probably taking him a bit of time to adjust. Is that a fair summary?

I wouldn't worry too much about his goalkicking.

so why did he kick 1.3 when it should have been at least 3.1?

A few of his shots were from a fair way out on tight angles. All three didn't miss by much IIRC. Nothing to worry about here.

They looked in front, and with his boot, in range. He will get better I'm sure.

Can't be perfect every time can you??

He had a bad night in front of goal.... Over his career, I'll gaurantee he will be more than reliable

elite foot skills, but like most youngsters, he will be up and down for a few years to come. Need to be patient and not expect too much too soon. Lets see how his consistency of performance, including kicking, is with 40 - 50 games under his belt.
Would be a lot going on in his head during an AFL game and will take time to develop composure.
Look forward to watchinh him develop
