Whatever reason Watters has (not likely to be comprehended by some on this forum ), if he thinks making changes gives the Saints ANY advantage, it's good enough for me.

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
Just go with it.
He's the coach he can do what he needs to do and not consult the supporters.
And the problem with the changes would be?

I posted this in another thread yesterday. Someone even suggested that it is disrespectful to paying members.
Seriously, who cares?

Did anyone actually ever think that Cripps would play apart from St Mart who told him to HTFU.

He's a good coach so far. I love our more attacking style. Just don't understand the childish selection games he sometimes play. Blind Freddy could see/sense Cripps wasnt going to play.Animal Enclosure wrote:Saintspremiers you have a serious axe to grind with Watters.

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
I have no problem and neither does the AFL. He's abiding by the rules.
You'll find that it creates an ounce of uncertainty for the opposition, a chance for some players with doubts to get up for team change deadlines and it also gives coaches a chance to assess weather conditions, late info on the opponents line-up and maybe also a few other reasons that are important to the senior coaches...And what are the negatives? Fans and forumites will complain I suppose
Why don't you think before you post? sh1t thread from you yet again

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
Rubbish thread. Waters has openly said he takes a 25 man squad to every game and in accordance with AFL rules selects the final team 90min before the match. Think we just get used to it, and it doesn't bother me at all.

What about betting implications?
Our major sponsor is Centrebet.
This is NOT a rubbish thread, it's a real issue.
Maybe the AFL should just get clubs to name 25 man squads that are all finalized only 90 minutes Prior to game time.

Centrebet pay our club money. Just in case you don't understand how sponsorship works.

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
I like the idea we mess with the minds of the opposition.
I really don't care about gambling.
If it gives us a .5% advantage on game day and its legal, go for it I say.
Don't even mind throwing raph in the forward line, Roo at CHB etc. Anything that brings us closer to a premiership.
that said on our current form we are probably looking like we are making up the numbers in the finals unless we can lift a few percentage points.

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
why list a player as an 'out' on Thursday, when you still may need to use him on game day?
if we struggle to work it out how do you think the opposition feel?
it's nice.

Re: Watters can't help himself.....
Now you are looking for legitimate excuses, but that is not 1. As far as gambling and our sponsor is concerned, we are fulfilling our end of the deal so your argument is still sh1t. Late team changes have been going on for as long as I can remember. Where's the issue?saintspremiers wrote:Well few other teams do it.Scollop wrote:I have no problem and neither does the AFL. Maybe you should think before you post. A few days ago you started another thread with the heading; "Go Cats".
Seriously....Wtf ???? I don't want to see that here. You are the wad mate -post that subject heading on other forums...not here!
