Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Nice to see him do it at another ground. Don't underestimate the improvement in his disposal either. Probably right up there in efficiency for the Saints.
Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Coincidence our 3 best tacklers (Lenny, Armo and Gilbert) are all from the Northern states?
But f*** I love watching him play

Very good.
Gilbert's tackle on young Matera was a ripper. Snapped him in half.

Best game for the club since the 2010 GF draw.
Lance or James??

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Armo only had 4 tackles according to the stats.
Blake with 8, Sippos with 6 and Hayes with 5 had the most for the saints.

Phenomenal tackling. But the best thing, he's now played 3 really good games in row. Starting to get some consistency.

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
i think he is better playing near the centre and forward of the game, like he been doing recently (except when we have been deficient in the backline) then being i Half back line player! especially with the way he tackles and his kicking into the forward line and his occasional goalTeflon wrote:He has his deficiencies Gilbo, but he puts the body inOld Mate wrote:Very good.

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Glad you mentioned the tackle numbers. I was going to say that Blakey laid plenty...stuck nearly all and a couple of them went unrewarded when their blokes definitely had prior. Armo was a beauty with his contested work tonight and he is working well as an outside option too. Disposal also looked A grade tonightJacks Back wrote:Armo only had 4 tackles according to the stats.

Armo come along really well. Great bond for us he is hard as anyone and hs decision making is getting very good. He will be a champ

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
He's always been hard at it, what I'm loving is his run and spread. He's significantly improved his outside game. His disposal is quite good and he's finally found some consistency.
Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Love to see him go head to head with Thompson next Friday.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
So, who laid the better tackle?
Armo on Brennan; or
Gilbo on Matera !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
Re: How good is Armo's tackling
Armo laid a tackle on no 3 for the Suns right in front of us. We all cringed, it was seriously bone crunching. He played awesome last night and Gilbo was much better also. Roo, what a superstar. We had fabulous seats and it was so good to see live footy, one of the best games I have been to in a very long time. Just love stress free footy.

Rugby league really teaches the Queensland and NSW boys to tackle like a vice. Gilbo's awesome when he flies horizontally into someone and clamps them down same with Dave. It is a real team lifter when they smash the air out of an opposition ball carrier.

Re: How good is Armo's tackling
that is an interesting point. i dont think there is any doubt kids that grow up with league develop a better tackling technique.mick13 wrote:Coincidence our 3 best tacklers (Lenny, Armo and Gilbert) are all from the Northern states?
