Par for the course for these half wits.

I see where Milne nearly got his head taken off on another occasion and no free kick there, either.

The umpires have decided that Richmond, as a team on the up and sentimental favourites among the neutrals, deserve a better run than the Saints, who have "had their chance".

If you seriously beleive that then you really shouldnt even follow the game. Anyway we got a pretty good run Friday but of course we didnt.

And you offer the insight of a person who should get to the optometrist.

Seems like it was the OPSM "professional" who missed the blatant trip, not the above poster.

If anyone needs more than having OPSM on their backs it is the umpires.

Did you see that non free kick to Green of the Lions by a WCE backman. Hit him flush in the face with a shoulder 10 metres out from goal with less than a minute left. Absolutely the worst decision of the round.

The umpires think they are the stars and love injecting themselves into the game. Geischen even told a coach how the crowd loves the umpire antics of paying a hold the ball (like we go to watch umpires make decisions  )

They pay the softest of free kicks especially if they are centre of attention (like a 50 metre free) but miss blatant trips like in Milnes case or the incredible hrad high shot on Green in the Lions v WCE game.

They are really pathetic and this protection makes them feel like they can do anything. All started when the AFL protected that corrupt umpire Head and his blatant and admitted cheating us v Freo a few years back because Thomas had bruised their incredibly fragiles ego's.

Umpiring in the game is worse, and more theatrical, than ever... Perhaps there's a link there..

I read on this forum a week or 3 ago a post that I think was by MB, regarding improvement in umpiring by calling players by the number, not names (or worse, nicknames) and not having a separate action for each free kick.. Allow them to say it into a headpiece (which they do already) to be tallied stats wise, but when an infringement occurs, stop play with a whistle and allocate the free kick the same way every time...

The holding the ball that we received in front of goal against the Swans when Saad and then Kosi tackled the Swans player head high, twice, was the most ridiculous posturing by an umpire I've seen.. It's like he was conducting an orchestra with a bulging disk in his back.. This is completely unnecessary, but happens far too often...

Not sure I have ever said that Milne should not have been opaid a free. I was talking about the game as a whole and we got a pretty good deal. I saw the Green one as well and that was another mistake. The umpires in question will be told this. I just dont get what people want. To go back and pay both frees?

I'm not so sure this actually happens..

Get Gieschen on the radio every so often, and he will defend 95% of the obviously wrong decisions that are brought to his attention... Surrounded by yes men, and have no resort for poor performance..

Of course they will be told. How can we have a sensible conversation if you actually think they arent. What logical reason would there be to not improve the umpiring?

The AFL have admitted that Milne SHOULD have got a free kick in the incident.

Plugger, can you please explain to me how the Milne free was missed? I saw it from level two on hf line. I was probably pissed and on top of that I am blind so how did the umpire not see Milne tripped?

But then you can have another umpire who 30m away and call a free kick ..... I was at the other end of ground and saw it ... quite obviously Milne was unlucky because all 3 umpires had players in the way

Fact is they are human ..... make mistakes ........ and have favourites and non favourites.

I think he's pointing out that in other posts you said it wasn't a trip and then incorrectly said it wasn't a free if it was an attempted trip.

Basically there were only three people in the whole stadium who didn't see this blatent infrinement.

When I saw it on TV, I thought he'd tripped over his own feet.

Just a bad decision, not an unforgivable one.
