You're a man of very few words jays, but these ones are good.

2 missing ruckmen were felt, and their FF kicked 8 while our best defender was missing.

Tigers are a good side and we did pretty well.

Not only Chips out but also Geary who has been good this year.

Add to that Gwilt's lack of conditioning and we had nothing down back.

Newnes may be OK but not at this stage.

List management.... It was highlighted preseason that we are light on in both areas and two injuries away from trouble...

Gets worse three years down the track unless it is addressed

EXACTLY,

love how the baggers come out in light of this... we're an undermanned team and we are holding up very well.

Agree, Gears was missed tonight, Newnes a bit raw at the moment, will improve.

No Gears
No Stanley
No McEvoy
No Fisher

Against a Tigers team in form and missing none of their key players; we still could have won with a bit more luck between the sticks.

Chips on Jack
Mac on Maric

Game won... if any two teams lost their best defender and both their ruckmen they would struggle to be competitive... eg would the Weagles be flag favourites without Glass, Cox and Niknat? Hell NO

So true. Gilbert has been a liability all year but stays in the side because we only have one genuine key position defender on our list and very few defenders of any kind over 190cm

Exactly. Collingwood had Reid and Keefe plaing on Jack and had there first choice ruck and just hung on. Not to mention Richmond played Miller and Post who where the worst two players on the ground.

This sums it up!!!

At full strength Jack wouldn't have kicked 8 and we would probably had the luxury of Kosi up forward all game and Stanley hurting them when he went forward.

Such a shame it never occured to our recruiting dept that we might lose chips and Maca to injury at some point over the course of the season. Clearly Depth is over rated, we just need to avoid getting any injuries, easy

It was a good game. Can't fault the effort.

We missed Big Boy McEvoy..... Greatly...

No Gears

PLUS We looked tired and sluggish after 3 consecutive 6 day breaks after some hard matches. Part of the game, but when you are under manned, it adds up. We almost pinched the game with 15 minutes of great football in that final quarter. Great effort from this team who, by rights, should have been out on their feet and when they were 20 points down in the last, it made that comeback all the more impressive. Super impressed with this group and can only see us getting stronger after the break.

Yeah, agree with the OP.

Blake looked the only defender able to match Riewoldt for bodily/aerial strength. Jack is a very strong player.

I thought the move might at half time might have been Kosi to ruck, Blake to Riewoldt and Sipposs to full forward.

if we can pinch some closegames and dont get any fresh injuries - we are going to do some serious damage in july and august i reckon.... we are playing good footy and have 2 ruckman, our b & f and schneids on the sidelines...

cant believe we let those freo muppets beat us on our home turf.
that one could cost us...

I can offically say Kosi is now the worst ruckman in the AFl. Should never take a centre bounce again. Blake was very good and Gilbert was better than Kosi. Missed Ben like you wouldnt beleive.

i thought Blake battled manfully in the ruck but you woud agree that we desperately missed an aerially-strong defender, with Riewoldt able to do as he pleased for much of the game.

Kosi wasn't doing much down forward and since we'd pretty much conceded the hit outs with Blake in the ruck anyway, we wouldn't have missed much.

Ben comes back, Blake goes back, Kosi goes forward.

Everyone wins.

Of course we did but Kosi wasnt the answer in the ruck. We got back into the game when Blake went back into the ruck in the last quarter. The problem was Reiwoldt kicked 3 when Blake was rucking. Worth the punt though and nearly paid off.

Won our first clearances for the night at the start of the last..... Guess who was rucking

In fact nearly all our centre clearances were when Kos was in the ruck

But if he wasnt rucking we would never had got back in the game. We missed Ben but there are some morons who actually think he may not play when available.
