Losing friday nights....

Post: # 1224991Post Saint Pup »

Does losing a friday night game just wreck the weekend for anyone else? Any ideas on ways to vent to get the anger out so I can go back to enjoying my weekend?

Yes it sucks.

The papers write about how bad the loser is all weekend as well.

If we play poorly, yes I do feel that 'wrecked weekend' haha. But tonight was a great game, shouldn't feel too disappointed.

Prefer watching Friday night than having to wait all weekend for a Sunday twilight. They had a crack. Some negatives and some positives.

Not anymore.

I used to mope and rage around all weekend but I usually forget about it after a couple of hours (unless we play like sh*t.)

Great game tonight so not much to complain about really. We, in all honestly, had our chances but Richmond were more accurate and that little f*uck Jack found acres of space when they needed it

My favourite is perspective…

A bunch of men chasing around a leather ball did not kick it between 2 sticks more than some other men tonight.

I know we all invest a lot into this team but, enjoy the wins when they come and try not to worry about it if they don't. It's footy.

When I was a kid in the 80's, we lost so often that the wins were just so special, we've been spoilt for nearly 10 years now winning more often than not.

At least we competed well tonight, didn't give up and could have snatched the game against a team on fire… all after 4, 6 day breaks against probably 4 top 8 sides. Missing 2 ruckmen and our best defender, we were did our best.

Do understand where you all are coming from. Try as I might to not let it get to me and look at the positives just really hate losing....

Highlight of the night Armo, I feel he will be the next in the mould of Harvey and Hayes.

Losing is for losers. Thought we'd buried losing-is-both-acceptable-and-kinda-fun attitude in the Saints Disco.

That is all.

Okay then, stay angry ALL WEEKEND.
It was a great match, we didn't give up… but didn't win.

I'm hearing ya Pup - couldn't agree more...BUT...had numerous texts last night from different people who support a range of clubs saying it was the best game of the season. No, that doesn't mean we accept the defeat, nor does it get us the four points we desperately needed - but at least we can be proud of the way the guys played (seriously undermanned in two crucial areas against the Tiges - ruck and down back) and at least it seems we have a future now with all these young blokes showing so much.

Chin up. Was a great game and we just fell short - poor kicking cost us in the end, not for the first time either, but that's footy.

Please...let's win a Premiership before GEELONG!!!! (O.k., so we've missed that opportunity...maybe let's win the next one before Geelong????)
