Jack Steven stats v Dane Swan stats at same age

You need to change the drop downs to: Collingwood, Dane Swan and at same age. Very easy.

Try against Simon Black, Bartel, etc. he matches them all!

Very interesting reading. I would take Jacks numbers as he is miles ahead in tackles and the rest is comparable.
(Also note that Swans are over a season where Jacks are from this year so far.)

Really is coming on well our Jack. It is great to see after having a few injury set backs in his early years.

What a great little gizmo, this compare stats thing!

Jack is just a fraction behind Swan I think, but comparable to or significantly ahead of almost every other top player I looked up.
Ahead of Lenny. Ahead of Ablett, for instance.
Sam Mitchell, who's also the same size, is very comparable at same age.
Marc Murphy was ahead of Jack at same age. Trent Cotchin is too -- he is the same age.

I've been excited about Jack since we first saw him scooting across the ground in his first practice match.
But this statistical potential-meter raises the humble hunch to solid rolled-gold fact!
Go Jack!!!

Let's be honest though .. At this age Ablett was still a spoilt daddys boy who was riding on his name not his skills he needed to pull his finger out to become the player he now is .. As for Swan he was working on staying out of the lock up at this age andwas really wasting his skills to that point ... Jack is playing great footy but he is prob close to the roof of expectations on him I don't think there is an attitude adjustment around the corner to push him to the Ablett/ Swan heights of their prime ... But I have been wrong many times before

Untrue. Jacks tank will increase the more pre seasons he does. He will also benefit a lot more from the cheap stats that Swan gets as he gets more experience.

For a moment I though this thread was entitled:

“Jack Steven stats v Dane Swan tats at same age”

Both pretty clean early on in their careers but of course we know which way the inky one went

I think you need to also look and see if the totals of disposals and tackles has gone up. My guess is it has but he is going great.

Disposals and Quality of disposals also.....Dal Santo is one of the most damaging mids in the AFL with footy in hand

Cool, calm decision maker, creative and skilled by foot

That's what sets him apart and has seen him AA three times..... Not his count

Dane Swan is a 188cm 90kg midfield bull, with a huge engine..... He rips games apart

I reckon Jack is more the speedy fleet footed mid who carries from stoppages

B.Harvey, Foley, Rodan, A. Swallow, Murphy, Blair, Jones, Jack, Kerr type

He has definitely moved Joey out of the Centre..... To his detriment....

Jack's overall improvement has been noticeable. His disposal seems to have improved in recent weeks too. That's definitely been his biggest weakness to date.

Interesting that his set shots for goal, as well as his shots on the run are fantastic. But ask him to pick out a team mate, and he struggles a bit under pressure. If he can get a bit better with that part of his game he could be a genuine gun.

He has plenty of time to sort it out.

Only when he's kicking short..... Toe pokes, rather than kicking through it...

Most of his kicks do not miss the target sideways.... They are short or over the head of a leading player.... Depth of a kick is difficult when you're trying to massage the ball by changing the pace of your leg.... Harves did it, but he was a freak!

His long kicking or goal kicking is very good... Not a lot wrong with his technique
