Gram was good for the third week in a row. People should watch a game without bias. Anyway we played well. There is no way there will be 5 changes.
+1 plugger, you should try and watch a game shrappy, never know what you'll see

Instead of saying he isn't good enough, who do you propose we bring in?

Yep fair enough. Fisher and Jimmy come in. We play Siposs as the third tall plus our 3 smalls with Rooy and Kosi. Blake rucks with back up from Kosi occasionly. Blake will have to go forward when resting which isnt ideal but not much choice. gilbert can move further up the ground so there is space for Jimmy and Chips.
yep

This is what I would like to see:

IN: Daniel ARCHER (promoted from rookie list), James GWILT, Raph CLARKE

OUT: Rhys STANLEY (injured), Jason BLAKE (omitted), Beau WILKES (omitted)

- Archer and Kosi to swap between ruck and full forward for the whole game. Archer is good at crashing packs, which will provide crumbs for Saad and Milera. Not quite sure about his ruck skills though.
- Gwilt as a direct replacement for Blake. Yes Blake has a big heart, but I think the time has finally come.
- Raph Clarke a direct swap for Wilkes. I'm aware that this would mean swapping a forward for a back, however on this occasion I think it's clear that Raph has much more class. Raph goes to the backline and Goddard becomes the third tall in the forward line to keep the structure in tact.
- Schneider needs one or two more weeks in the VFL.
- No room for Ledger yet because our midfield is okay.

I understand looking to phase Blake out, but surely this week is completely the wrong time... He is the only player that can cover all of Fisher, McEvoy and Rhys rolled into one... Sure, not with the same effectiveness, but he is the only option...

He is essential this week, until the big boys are back and about...

Agreed, he would be first picked for the next month…

I see that as a problem with Blake though at this point in time.
You could say he is a jack of all trades and master of none.
I'm not questioning his commitment and contribution towards to the S.t.Kilda footy club. He has brought an outstanding effort for a long time.
However if I were coach, I would want stability in positions and structure.
And that would mean having players that are really good at one position, along with a bunch of the 22 players who can provide flexibility and play 2 positions (Goddard, Kosi etc.)

The benefit with having both Archer and Kosi in, is that they can both play as Forward / Rucks and rotate directly with each other.
By having Blake play Back / Ruck and Kosi as Forward / Ruck, it might create problems with rotations and the back lines and forward lines would become less stable each time Kosi and Blake swap in the ruck.
By leaving Blake out of the team, you have a settled backline for the whole game.

Daniel Archer has a GRAND TOTAL of 3 hitouts in his 7 senior VFL appearances this year.. Yes a grand total of 3.... Dont know why anyone thinks he is a ruckman, he isnt. He is a forward and honestly Beau Wilkes is 100 times the forward Archer is.

Perhaps they don't want him so much as to ruck, but to free up Blake and Kosi back to where they play best?

IN
Gwilt, Clarke

OUT
Stanley, Cripps

Think Cripps will be rested, to make sure his knee is up to spec

Bring in two Backline stalwarts, to give us back our solid backline, allowing Black to run in the ruck.

Wilkes to play forward, and cover Kosi when he is Rucking.

Gilbert or Goddard to push up when blake comes back.

Think that one of our 3 small forwards will play as Sub, as they could do with a small spell.

Need to get Ledger in

Swans love stoppages - players who can run and spread quickly from congestion a must plus he can win his own ball

Gilbert should play as the fast tall forward = where Stanley was

Gwilt and Sam go into the backline.

Blake to toil manfully on the Rick with koso taking spells.
Third man ups vital to support Blake.

Swans are a hard bodied side....so we need hard bodies too.

Would love Schneider, but he would have to lack match fitness.... So only spot at present for him would be as the Sub

Guess it comes down to Rhys hammy 6 weeks to be safe or 4 and hope.

Well it seems like 8 weeks is the minimum for a LTI and we don't want to be THAT safe with Stanley.

So it looks like we'll have to throw some lesser light under a bus

Dropping Blake for Archer who isn't even eligible is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever read on this site.

Watters said that Stanley is out 4-6 weeks which probably means we'll see him again in round 1, 2013.
