Saintsational Margin Competition - WEEK FIVE
The comp is ni full swing but after a short week, it will be interesting to see how many people front up. I think its safe to say there are around fourteen or fifteen regulars although amazingly NOBODY has nailed the margin yet.
It was a very low scoring week thanks to a few shocks in the game - nobody managed to tip the margin although a few people got close to the eventual 24 point winning margin.
Only one poster managed to get the leading goalkicker and three managed to get the first goal right. NOBODY predicted Ray to get most touches (although to be fair, it is a very strange result) and NOBODY scored in more than two categories.
The big winners of this week were stevie and OneEyedSainter77 who amazingly only had two differences in their tips being the amount of goals Kosi was tipped to kick and the amount of touches Dal would get; both scored four points by correctly tipping St Kilda to win and Riewoldt to score the first St Kilda goal, helping close the gap on competition leader TheJeff, ever so slightly.
Griggsy and dragit also scored well with three points each while eight posters correctly tipped St Kilda to gain a point each.
The 22 points scored for the entire game was the lowest so far. The scores have gotten progressively lower each week after the Melbourne match probably due to nobody nailing the amount of disposals on the head the last two weeks (TheJeff still remains the only poster to do this - and they've done it TWICE!)
Anyway, the leaderboard doesn't have too much difference from round three.
The biggest mover was dragit up five spots to 11th from 16th, closing in on the top ten.
The biggest fall was shared by borderbarry and SaintDal who both failed to tip, dropping three spots as others around them got on the board further by picking the Saints to win.
24 points - TheJeff
14 points - stevie
13 points - OneEyedSainter77, Griggsy
9 points - felix
8 points - james rose
6 points - matrix, whiskers3614, MCG-Unit, noddy04, dragit
5 points - bergholt, Eastern, SainterK
4 points - SunburySaint
3 points - ChelseaGuy, GoSaintersGo
2 points - saintspremiers, 35...LEGEND, dals da bomb, saintkellerm, santazzi, sendmehomehappy
1 point - borderbarry, saintDal, Toy Saint, CJC
YET TO SCORE - Foz, snowdelisaint
Reminder of rules
1 - Winner of game
2 - Leading goal kicker (bonus one for correct amount)
3 - First goal kicker
4 - Leading possession getter (bonus two for correct amount)
5 - margin (ten points for direct hit, five points for being one off)
MY TIPS:
1 - St Kilda
2 - Stanley (3) - just a little word on tipping more than one player, you get points only if it falls exactly that way but you get points for every player tipped. For example, if you tip four players to end up on the same amount of goals and they are ALL the leading goalkickers you score eight points plus bonus four if you guessed the correct amount of goals, but if only two or three players get up, you score zero points. So its all or nothing.... you can't say Roo (4) or Kosi (4) for instance. You can only say OR if the proviso that one of these misses out, for example: "Saad or Milne if Saad doesn't play"
3 - Kosi
4 - Steven (24)
5 - 8 points

You stand to make a massive comeback if you can sweep the lot.
I think I might implement a bonus for sweeping the whole five - it needs to be substantial - thinking around fifty points.
What does everyone think of that?
